On every other forum I'm on (wow...do I sound like a forum addict?), when someone posts a link, and I click it, it opens in a new tab. I like that because if I end up on that tab for a while, clicking around on different stuff, I don't lose my "place" on the original forum tab. But here, the links always open on the same tab as the PCX forum, so in order to get back to the forum, I have to hit the back button, sometimes multiple times, and that's if I remember not to close the tab.
So...is there a setting I can change so links open in a new tab for me? Or is that a forum-wide setting that an admin would need to change if enough users are in agreement? (I've never had to change a setting on other forums...it just happens the way I'd prefer.)
Thanks!
Kermit
Get links to automatically open in new tab/window?

Opening in a new tab is down to your browser settings, not the forum settings.

Re: Get links to automatically open in new tab/window?
Then why is it different on other forums? I think it could be a forum setting.
How do yours open...new tab or same tab?

Yeah...I know about right-clicking to open in a new tab. I guess my point is this: is it not a best practice for the forum to be set up in a way that the user doesn't automatically "unwillingly" leave the forum when clicking a link within the forum? Does that make sense? I mean...don't we want to stay on the forum, but still explore the links people post, without having the momentary hassle of specifying EVERY TIME we click a link that we want it to open in a new tab?
Or am I just extremely lazy?

That's my one nitpick on this forum as well. On some other browsers, it opens a new tab. Then onto this forum and I forget then close the tab and suddenly I'm out of the forum and have to make my way back. Luckily Chrome lets you easily reopened recently closed tabs.

Okay. Well, I guess I'm glad it's not just me.

I meant to say on some other forums not browsers, sorry. And really, it's most other forums.

I typically use Chrome as my browser, but almost any browser I use including Chrome, a new tab is typically opened by clicking the roller wheel. There are a few sights that won't open a new tab that way, but this one does.
