Re: service intervals
When I had a coolant leakage check two weeks ago, and my PCX now being on 5900 miles, they said it was due for the next service soon as it was 1yr past the last one (last done at 600 miles). Strange as it should have had one at 2500/5000 as it used to be miles or time, whatever comes 1st. I do my own services now.
Should it not be 1yr or 5000 miles then?

Let us know how it goes
Re: service intervals
The service schedule is in the owner's manual supplied with the scooter.

Re: service intervals
Honda may quite reasonably estimate if a user only covers 2500 miles in a year than that is light use and the scoot should cope well, other wise many users will cover 2500 miles long before 12 months is up so if people do have dealer services, 2500 is a better way to regulate things.

Re: service intervals
Heres the reply from honda uk Thank you for contacting Honda UK.
We are sorry to learn of the discrepancies with the maintenance schedule.
The scooter needs to be serviced once per year or every 2500 miles excluding the first service (600miles, 2500miles, 5000miles, 7500miles, 10000 miles, 12500miles, 15000miles), whichever comes first. Only the radiator coolant, final drive oil and the brake fluid need changing every 2 years.
Should you have further queries, do not hesitate to contact us back.
Kind Regards, that clears up any confusion that any one may have

Re: service intervals
ive just had my 2nd service a week ago and it was 600 3000 then every 3000 after that the honda dealer actually said he's willing to extend it to every 3500 miles (tbh im glad as the bikes only just hitting 3 months old!) id prefer it if it was every 5000 to be honest but hey ho.

Re: service intervals
Don't know what's going on here - Honda specify the interval in the user manual, dealers are stating different things. If Honda have changed the intervals, then they or the dealer should notify all users of the change via email, post, etc. If you bought it you should be registered with the dealer and Honda if new. This seems more like the dealers do not know what is correct and making it up as they go.Wulfy wrote:ive just had my 2nd service a week ago and it was 600 3000 then every 3000 after that the honda dealer actually said he's willing to extend it to every 3500 miles (tbh im glad as the bikes only just hitting 3 months old!) id prefer it if it was every 5000 to be honest but hey ho.

The dealer isn't in a position to do that.Wulfy wrote:the honda dealer actually said he's willing to extend it to every 3500 miles
Honda provide the warranty and they decide on the terms.

Re: service intervals
Mines due in after another 400miles which at my rate is about two weeks currently 4,600 since April so far. However will be asking about the jarring when setting off.

Re: service intervals
Correct, Honda Sets the service intervals. Not the dealer. The only time honda will extend the warranty interval or total coverage time is if a major component has been replaced, like piston assy or crankshaft, and they want to give the owner a perk for his trouble. The warranty file will reflect this change.
