Hit 10,000 miles PCX150 odometer
I recently hit 10,000... when I had my bike inspected the guy couldn't believe I had that many miles. Are there a lot of you with that many on a PCX150? Who's got the most out there?

10,000 miles is not that much - but it also depends on the year and how long you've had it
I commute 9 and a bit miles each way to work and that is not far by any standard, but it's still roughly 4500 miles/yr so someone doing a 20 mile commute to work would get close to 10,000 in just 1 year.

Wait about rain and snow? Here in New England we can ride 9 months a year, and not when raining!iceman wrote:10,000 miles is not that much - but it also depends on the year and how long you've had it

Re: Hit 10,000 miles PCX150 odometer
That's normal to us.
I've put 2,000km on my Vino 125 so far in the almost 8 weeks I've had it on the road. I'll keep on riding until there's snow but assuming a 9 month riding season, that's about 10,000km a year.
I think the average casual rider puts 2,000km a year on their bike. If I were on the market for a used bike, I wouldn't consider anything with less than 1,000km a year on it.

Re: Hit 10,000 miles PCX150 odometer
I just rolled 5,500 miles in the six months I have owned by PCX150. Being in the Western desert, I get to ride all year long. Coolest it will get will be the upper 20s when I commuting to work. (That said, I did ride this summer in 112 degree heat!)

Re: Hit 10,000 miles PCX150 odometer
60m a day commute. Had mine since march this year (new) and now almost on 9000m. How it'll stand up to daily use/abuse who knows? I'll continue to service myself. It's cheap enough innit? How easy is it to change the belt? Do I have to change rollers too?
I sold my 1150gs with 132000m on it. Most of those were mine. One reason I downsized was that although I got a reasonable mpg, it was costing me as much, if not more than using the car.
I don't miss the bike really but i love the simplicity of riding a scoot, and it copes pretty well. Mine's a 125 by the way.
Just my 2penneth

Once the purchase price and insurance/fuel is covered, then anything else is a bonus compared to other forms of transport. The gear will last for future use.
If it costs more than the above, even in a year to use other transport, the the PCX can be written off (purchase wise) without any worries - easy of use, filtering (in countries that allow it), convenience, fun - added benefits.
If it breaks down after costs compared to public transport, car, whatever, then even a new one or trade-in is better value than other forms of transport. Not so if you also have a car and paying for it to sit on a road/drive, then it gets more complcated.
