Re: How to install - Yuminashi 2015 variator kit
Guys, after 6 months my top speed dropped a lot... Can't pass 120kmh without engine rev cutoff. Before I was able to achieve 130kmh and 140kmh on central stand.
Im not whining about 10kmh... The point is to run at 100~110kmh my engine now revs lot more...
Usually its worn belt or worn rollers?

How many km's you have clocked since installation?
What you experience is more likely belt wear.

Today I couldn't pass 110kmh...
It's been +/- 7.000km since the upgrade. Better change the belt again? It's impossible to find Gates belts here, I'm using the original Honda one

Re: How to install - Yuminashi 2015 variator kit
I have written Gates twice requesting information on where to purchase the SB50026 belt domestically. Twice they have ignored me. If it were legal I'd rent a bulldozer and flatten every building their company has for doing so.
I have sourced the belt through a Gates distributor and was told directly by the regional manager that by contract only Yuminashi can distribute the belt.

Would be a bit of an overkill wouldn't it :-)fun2scoot wrote: Twice they have ignored me. If it were legal I'd rent a bulldozer and flatten every building their company has for doing so.
Have you tried other belts, like the kevlar belt from Malossi?

hmmm...I thought suing them for the costs of the rental, diesel, and labor was going to be the 'overkill' part.Oyabun wrote:Would be a bit of an overkill wouldn't it :-)

Seriously, any entity so arrogant as to not deign to even respond to a customer's inquiry with the usual, expected diversionary lie, deserves to be brought down a notch.
Honestly, no, not the Malossi specifically. But, I have spent many hours comparing specs of competing belts and, none is even close. And, not using running Kevlar with this mod should not be done.Oyabun wrote:Have you tried other belts, like the kevlar belt from Malossi?
That said; with the Yuminashi sourced belt; The cheap Baht + insane shipping is always within twenty bucks of the above.

Did you find the belt?
It is for a 125 the same dimensions as a stock honda belt.

You have written to the wrong Gates person

Is that right? Sheepishly, I admit I've not tried the OEM Honda with the Yumi, I should and come spring, will.waspmike wrote:Did you find the belt?

Thanks; I'll try Climategate next...waspmike wrote:You have written to the wrong Gates person

OEM Honda is very strong. If it's the right one it's very tough. A true oem belt from Honda is from Bando brand I think.fun2scoot wrote:Is that right? Sheepishly, I admit I've not tried the OEM Honda with the Yumi, I should and come spring, will.waspmike wrote:Did you find the belt?

When I checked recently at bike-parts-honda.com I have found only Brando listed with the oem item number for the European model.waspmike wrote:I think you will find it is Mitsuboshi.BPT7594 wrote:fun2scoot wrote: A true oem belt from Honda is from Bando brand I think.
Might be different for other markets though.
