Re: New PCX top speed???
The speed reduction is perfectly cyclic and uniform in frequency and amplitude. It never happens at 67 mph. It always happens at exactly 68 whether down hill or on the flat. I have experienced the eery feeling of hp balanced against the wind during top speed testing on my CBR250R. There is no cyclic surging. Only a random and natural interplay between the power and the wind. What I see happening with the PCX is definitely not like that. Too bad Honda didn't put a menu selection into the the screen to change the mileage into an occasional tach read out. Then we would know if I am at redline or not.

Re: New PCX top speed???
With 13,000 miles on the clock I don't get higher than 56-57mph top speed indicated (not gps, so probably slower - lorries overtake me now). This could be down to the belt getting near it's replacement at the 15k service.
Re: New PCX top speed???
Similar with mine, at 11000 miles its only doing 61mph indicated.
When new it did 67mph indicated.
When new it did 67mph indicated.

Pop a new belt and rollers in and I'll bet it'll be good as newedscoot wrote:With 13,000 miles on the clock I don't get higher than 56-57mph top speed indicated (not gps, so probably slower - lorries overtake me now). This could be down to the belt getting near it's replacement at the 15k service.

Re: New PCX top speed???
The reason I think the ECU limits by speed is, it goes the same top speed on the centerstand at max throttle as it does under load.
It's entirely possible it's limited by RPM or another measure though -- I'm by no means a Honda engineer, just a backyard mechanic speculating.
My PCX has the same symptoms as gn2 and edscoot too, my top speed is down from 61 to 59mph. Something else must be coming into play here...

One wonders where the ECU and speedo get their information from...?

I remember a study which concluded that reading The Wail on a regular basis was likely to induce stress and/or depression.
Not the paper for me, I used to read The P&J.

Once i reached 124kmh but it is hard to do.
I will make a vídeo for you. In Portugal there are many doing 75mph.
Re: New PCX top speed???
You mean like a video where the speedo indicates 118kph which is proof of being able to do 127kph...?Pcxdemon wrote:which-craft video proof

Wheel bearings.......brakes.........tire size............
Many things on a scooter are not designed to run over a specified speed. You can hot rod anything you like
but perhaps your personal pilot should take this baby out on the roads and test it for you should your math
be off a bit.
LOL

Your speedo reads fast by 8%. Maybe 10%. What is the year and displacement of your PCX?TasmanianDevil wrote:My top speed is 76mph about 122kmh.
