If you need more put a fuel container under the seat.

Just think of all the mpg's you're saving versus driving a car or suv, will make those every other day fillups more enjoyable.

11.5 litres is just slightly below average for a 200-500cc bike. Your commute is just long.

My Vino 125 has a 4.7 litre tank FYI. I have to fill up every ~120km or 75 miles. Kinda miss my CBR 125R's 13 litre fuel tank which I typically filled up every ~320km or 200 miles. Not completely at empty.

The little Kawasaki Z300 has a 17 litre tank and can easily do 70mpg+ giving it a range of over 250 miles.

I have wished for a larger fuel tank also but in reality, by the time I get close to empty my tale bone is ready for a rest stop anyhow.

A chain needs to be replaced more often than a v-belt. And in the rain you need the scottoiler more often.

So a chain isn't the economiest way to ride a bike.

How did this become a motorcycle vs scooter argument? Both have their advantages and disadvantages. It doesn't make one better than the other, just different. If I could afford to have both in my garage, I definitely would.

I don't like that I have to choose either top speed or low end acceleration with CVTs and I love the fun of using the clutch and shifting gears, but scooters are simply enjoyable to ride and belts require less maintenance and are relatively inexpensive to service.

A normally maintained chain should last much longer than a V belt. A mate with a Suzuki TL1000 got 50,000 miles out of one.
When riding in rain you may as well turn off the oiler because the oil will never touch the metal if it's wet.

V4 TRV, if you have not got the scottoiler yet check out the Tuturo auto oiler. Much better, got one on the 690 Duke, and have one to replace the scottoiler on my MT-01.

As for the 175 mile every two days. Incorporate a coffee break everyday at a gas station, make it part of your routine. Problem solved.
Even if you carry extra fuel you still have to refuel, so easier to do the coffee break thing?

Wow. How are you managing to get 200 miles out of a tank? Even when I'm trying to hypermile, I can't get more than about 135 miles out of my tank.
