This bike's been available for a year now. It's nice for the MSRP but after freight, PDI, and admin fees from the ridiculous KTM dealers in Canada, it's about the same OTD as the CB500FA of about CA$7200. Which is fine because it makes the same HP, weighs less, and may be in a lower insurance class depending on where you live because of the smaller cc motor, but it'll be out of the price range of people shopping for the CB300FA which is CA$5800. (We only have the ABS version of the CB300F in Canada)

Some have suggested on my Strom forum that Honda is working on a 300 size adventure bike too.... not yet released. I also hope they update the 700 to the more appropriate 750 engine as well. They will cover the spectrum here at least with a 300, 500, 750, and a 1000. in the US there is demand for a lighter adv bike. A lot of folks under 5'8" or so struggle with the larger 500 lb bikes at stops, etc. My custom seat that just arrived is like a bit of heaven and lowered my position nearly an inch. It is like night and day and I am 5' 11" with a 32 inch inseam. Our curvy hilly roads - especially off of pavement can be a real challenge at inclining stops.

That zongshen got some really good looks - but I would not go touring on an unknown 250cc bike.
Would do though on the cb500x. Well known engine with many being able to service it, Efi, almost the same fuel economy and only slightly higher weight that the zongshen, but a lot more grunt. Too bad that the spoked wheels and long suspension trial package adds significantly to the price.

Yup. I've just read some of them and it indeed looks like a capable small bike. Actually a lot of bike for the price and its size could potentially fit some smaller weight riders very well.
