How do we put a hook on PCX?
Let me ask please this : did anyone thought anything about putting a hook to the plastics under the steering ?
I mean something like this :
SH 300 has one of these OEM, i have put the following to my daughters YAMAHA and i ' m still searching the way to do it to PCX too but YAMAHA has a bolt there so i fit it easily without drilling holes to plastic. Take a look (of another scooter because something is wrong with my pictures and i can not put them) :
Any ideas?
Thank you in advance.
PS If there is a similar topic already and i did not notice please feel free to delete this or to merge this to the other topic. Thank you very much.
I have seen the straps on the steering but i want a hook lower of the steering.

I thought Homie or someone recently posted something along these lines - not sure how to find it (no doubt if they did they will answer). If nothing else perhaps one of those handlebar 'bars' and then hang off that.

Re: How do we put a hook on PCX?
Thank you.
I do not want to put something like this to the handlebars (my daughter is a new rider and i want nothing to interfere with the handlebars) but to the plastic under them in the center.
When the time comes for brake fluid to be changed and i will take of these plastics to reach the compined brake fluid container i think that i will drill two holes and i will put one of an SH 300 solid and stable.
Untill then if there is any other idea i will be happy to read it.

Re: How do we put a hook on PCX?
I've been mulling this over myself, since I'm switching to a PCX from a scooter with a much-used grocery hook.
Once you go below the handlebars, the hook seems a bit low to do much good.
I'll be putting on a top box and bungie-cording a zipper bag to the back seat
...and it might be a good idea to occupy a newbie rider's back seat with storage, just saying ;-)

I'm going to put a small GIVI top case to the buck too but a little bit later because as you said it's not good indeed for a new rider to ride with a top case.DailyRider wrote:I've been mulling this over myself, since I'm switching to a PCX from a scooter with a much-used grocery hook.

That will be done later (i allready have the top case from another moto) after she gets familliar with her bike.
So you think that bellow hadlebars it will be less usefull. Perhaps you are right.
I'm afraid although to put the hook to the hadlebars because of her lack of experience. I don't know if the extra weight of the bags or the case of a laptop etc causes any difficulty to easy steering - handling of the bike.
Thank you for your help.

Re: How do we put a hook on PCX?
A laptop case would be too big to hang off a hook.
The reason the PCX doesn't have a hook is there's very little room for ordinary bags because of the tunnel.
I found that my Givi E300B top case had no effect whatsoever on handling.

Thank you for your really important information about GIVI.gn2 wrote:A laptop case would be too big to hang off a hook.

I think the one i have is 30 or 32 litters, similar to yours.
So i will first put the GIVI on and then i will see about the hook.
Althouhg i have allready put a big pack of toillet paper there and managed easily to keep it in place with the inner of my legs....
The way i have imagined this is to hang the bags to one side and the other of the tunnel for keeping balance and there is more than enough place for legs....but for an experienced rider not for a newbie....

Ahah, she wants to carry a laptop!
They make some very fine backpacks (with 2 shoulder straps) that contain laptop sleeves.
My experience has shown that other ways of carrying a laptop on a scooter can damage them.

Re: How do we put a hook on PCX?
I have a proper backpack to carry my notebook around. Actually my notebook is a more portable size (13,3") so the entire backpack with the notebook can fit below the seat if I don't want to get it on my back.
When I go for groceries I usually hang some of my luggage on the RAM mount what I have mounted in the riser replacing one of the allen bolts. As it is almost fully aligned to the center of the steering it is not affecting steering almost at all. And If I want to mount a GPS or camera I can do it over the ball mount.
It is very similar to this:

I would use a 4 point net to carry a laptop.

That is the perfect idea beacause we can compine everything !Oyabun wrote:I have a proper backpack to carry my notebook around. Actually my notebook is a more portable size (13,3") so the entire backpack with the notebook can fit below the seat if I don't want to get it on my back.

A ram mount is always the perfect solution for cameras, gps etc.
Personally i have 2 of them installed to my SH 300.
One on the front suspension boot and one to my left mirror for my Go Pro.
Do they have the ball ending to a suitable bolt to be mounted exactly to the bolt of the steering ?
Amazing !I did not know that.
When you put there a smart phone can you see clearly the instruments of the bike ?
I believe that this solution is the best !
Is this http://onboardcamera.gr/index.php?route ... uct_id=208 the suitable ?

Re: How do we put a hook on PCX?
Yup,you can buy the set comes with three different length bolts and one of the newer rubber like surface spheres. It mounts directly to the riser bolt. Depending on the size and orientation of the phone, but I believe that it can accommodate even a large smartphone without blocking the view of the instruments.ONTWOWHEELS wrote:That is the perfect idea beacause we can compine everything !Oyabun wrote:I have a proper backpack to carry my notebook around. Here's a link to the set what fits the PCX handlebar riser:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B005J43I5 ... 1447789207
PS. I bought it locally so I'm sure you can find it at other merchants than Amazon too.

Perhaps this ram mount converts PCX to a super sport bike as well...
