Should have bought a faster scooter, then you wouldnt have to tuck.

Re: Rode the PCX125. Bought the 150
Be nice guys...
I only hit 59 on my PCX, tuck, no tuck, huge windshield or no huge windshield. YMMV.
It's also probably a factor of weight, my PCX gets up to speed a lot faster if the dog and 50-100lbs of camping gear isn't on it.

Re: Rode the PCX125. Bought the 150
Weight has almost nothing to do with top speed. Only how long it takes to get there. And it has very little to do with fuel economy. Much less than people think. Unless you ride where you have to use the brakes a lot.maddiedog wrote:Be nice guys...

Theres plenty of 200cc and up scooters. Try a Tmax, Majesty, Burgman, Vespa, Silverwing etc, even Kymco makes some bigger ones.sendler2112 wrote:Like what?mad trapper wrote:Should have bought a faster scooter, then you wouldnt have to tuck.
On the flip side my 150 does 65 easy with no tucking.

Re: Rode the PCX125. Bought the 150
All $5-8000. The $2600 Kymco Super8 150 is the only bike that can give the PCX a run for it's money. The Downtown 300i is a nice, fast bike but is $5600.mad trapper wrote:

Re: Rode the PCX125. Bought the 150
The Kymco Downtown 300i is a far more capable machine and is in a whole different league to the PCX.

As are the Burgman, Majesty, SilverWing ect.
.
I never said I wasn't thrilled with the all around "just enoughness" of the PCX.
.
All I did was mention the word tuck.
.
I am a former downhill ski racer and current age group bicycle racer. Tucking on the bike for hours at a time is very natural to me and it is also useful at times on low powered motorcycles. Sorry if I scared (or scarred) anyone.

Just for grins I sat on the scoot and tried to do the tuck think to check on the comfort. You must be 4 feet tall to be able to do that. You didnt scare or scar anyone. The ski and bike pics are one thing, I really need a pic of you on the pcx in full racing tuck.
Re: Rode the PCX125. Bought the 150
It won't make any difference on a PCX though.sendler2112 wrote:it is also useful at times on low powered motorcycles.

Is your seat hump still on? You have to slide back where the hump used to be and put your feet as far forward onto the cruiser position as they will fit.mad trapper wrote:Just for grins I sat on the scoot and tried to do the tuck think to check on the comfort. Some other people may be interested in this. You think Aling or PCXdeamon don't tuck in order to hit 130kph?mad trapper wrote:Its a scooter. Have no need to tuck. Still waiting for the pics!

You didn't want it to work. You can't do it. Don't even try. Please feel free to ignore anything you read here that you don't like.

If I want to do that I'll buy a bigger faster bike. Still want to see your scooter race tuck pics though.

Slouching gives me an extra 1/4 mph
In thinking of fitting a chaise longue to help the top speed

Re: Rode the PCX125. Bought the 150
Second monitored fill on my 80 mile round trip back country commute. 96.5 mpgUS. Rainy and slower on the way home. The tires stick ok in the rain with still no slipping under hard braking. The rear did move out a little more than my CBR250R does in the wet. I'm surprised that despite the amount of wind you feel on your legs, my pants stayed pretty dry. The high beam is better than many cars.

I coat my pcx with cooking spray. Not only faster and better mileage but I can cook eggs on a hot day.
