Wider Tires

I'm quite impressed with the stock Dunlops on mine.
I would certainly replace the rear tyre with a larger one when the time comes - primarily to improve the gearing above 90km/h.

Redwind, did you get the standard size tyres for your PCX?

With the 140 you may have to modify the inner fender slightly (kramnala has done this).

I had a look and the stock tyre appears to be <20mm from some of the plastic.
Some modification would be necessary.

I'm going to speak authoritatively on this as a motorcycle mechanic and having owned over 25 motorcycles...DON'T put a 140mm tire on the rear of your PCX or a significantly wider front tire. The rim width is too narrow and will adversly affect (dangerously) the profile of the tire. It's not safe.

If they made a 110/90/14 that would be ok, or a 100/100/14...but my searches have shown they don't. I put a taller (not much wider) tire on my Elite 110 to gain 4mph top speed, but the profile is still safe as it's not that much wider than the OEM tire.

I would be worried about that too.

Bridgestone give recommended rim size:

Yes Wingz. Got the right size to fit the wheel size. Too bad mine didn't come with your stock Dunlop tires.

I have looked at my wheels. The front rim is 2" and the rear rim is 2.5".
So like ScooterMan said, 110/90-14 would be fine.

120/80-14 looks ok but I have only seen front versions in that size.

I would think the lean makes it less serious than having an over-sized tyre on a car.
Is it possible to move the outer surface of the tyre side to side while the wheel is stationary?

More than good enough on a smooth, flat road surface. That's not good enough for cross country. Some of us have varied road surfaces, our needs are not always the same.

I'm running 110/80 at front and 120/80 at the rear on the stock wheels - and absolutely satisfied with the results.

yeah a 14" rear for the forza wheel would be nice, not sure if the pcx would be any better with say 16s"???

This is a huge topic over at the Honda SOHC4 forum, where customizers put modern very wide rubber on their '70s CB750 and 550 rat bikes. I was tempted, and the traditionalists talked me out of it. I have been told that transitioning from a motorcycle to a scooter involves a learning curve, particularly in the corners, so fitting tires that improve cornering interests me.

Yes you need three steel spacers, easy mod see my video.

As for why did I need to go wider... LOOKS. If you do your PCX will look filled out, rounded, cosmetically balance, beauty and symmetry in motion!

Homie, thanks for the advice! My PCX is the 2013 one, I dont know if the spacers will be needed. Just in case I will carry a tube for making them.

Did you also had to change the bolts for longer ones?

Oh I see now that you show your year, good man sorry.

For late 14's and 2015's you will need two bolts for the breather box, 1/2 inch longer than what you have since those are 1/2 inch spacers. The fender bolts was already long enough to handle the spacer.

From my research I have done it seems like the easiest is to stay 90/90 front and move from 100/90 to 110/80 in the rear using City Grip tires.
It is so hard to find 14" tires for our PCX, and after much looking this is what I will go for in the future.
This setup for the rear tire is 10% wider and you will only lose 1/2 a mph at 65mph compared to stock.

Thanks for the video and spacer info. I'm about to do the same, but how much clearance is there to the shock springs, is there still room for YSS with wider shock springs to fit for example?
