school project

Post by honkerman »

Heya. I did a video for one of my classes based on the history of the motor scooter. Any feedback or suggestions are welcome. It's not due until Friday.

Great information, but I believe two things might help ....

Twelve minutes of still pics is a little challenging. I have seen some presentations where still pics are used but it look like they are moving in the screen (horizontally, vertically, diagonally, zoom in, zoom out). It would be an improvement on the still pics.

You don't have much voice inflection. That can be difficult when there is no visual interaction with the speaker. Maybe consider varying your inflection, or possibly have someone else do parts of the narration if that would be permitted.

More James Earl Jones, less Ben Stein? I'm not sure I could get a better vocal variation right now tbh. You may note that the first few minutes have better inflection, and it gets worse toward the end...that's the collarbone talking.

I'd wondered about the photos. Unfortunately, I'm limited with video use. I'll throw in some transitions.

Thanks kindly!

The initial section was very interesting and extremely well researched.

At one point when the narration describes how a Lambretta is recognised by few outside the scooter fraternity the picture showing is of a green Vespa, there are other mismatches twixt text and pictures later on.

Although there is reference to other places, the overall impression given from the narration was that the video is a history of the scooter in the USA rather than simply a history of the scooter.

That is accurate GN2. It is being presented to Americans, and I'm trying to keep it applicable to them.

As for the Vespa/Lambretta confusion, yeah, I knew that was there, but when I put it together last night, the Oxycodone and numbing patches had worn off and I just didn't want to mess with it.

It is a rough draft, so some things will get fixed. :D

Looks ok depending on what year you are in school. Have you had any feedback from the teachers?

It's a tech school. I've got a bachelor's degree already, but I wasn't trying to go terribly showy. I could do better, but with the combination of time constraints, limited resources, and a searing pain in my shoulder and ribs, I'm going to be content with what I have.
