Crankcase breather tube - Difficulty in removing plastic

Hello everyone ...

I have a 2015 PCX150.

This may sound stupid but I literally cannot remove the crankcase breather tube.

I've loosened the metal tightener thingo, and try as I might with fingers, tweezers, pliers, twisting, pushing, squeezing.. I cannot remove the bloody thing!

I've tried getting a wire or bent tweezer into the top to try and pull the top down first as I thought maybe it was just sticking to much to the black plastic part.. but no. I've pulled hard on it with a set of pliers... and so on...

So ultimately I figure I could ask this question here... Has anyone experienced difficulty in removing it like I am?

The funny part is I took it to get the 4k service done, and they changed the engine oil but did not cleanout the crankcase breather... I don't mind the oil but as I am rather mechanically "inept" at the moment though slowly learning, I hoped they would remove the simplest and yet most frustrating part!

Anyway hope someone can help with a method of solution...

Maybe some dish detergent squeezed around it might loosen it? And Hey! What about a hair dryer? "Warm" the plastic tube and pull it off?
Or get mean (arg) grab a pair (haha) of pliers, put a cloth on its jaws and take a hold of the tube

Thanks for the suggestions. I tried the pliers (without the cloth though) and pulled quite hard but I am afraid to break the tube.

Didn't think about the blow dryer or detergent idea though.

You have to spread the spring clip (#14) and slide it back along the tube. If you have done that insert a large screwdriver between the end of the tube what is next to it and twist the screwdriver.

The "simply wriggle and pull off" part is the part that doesn't work for me.

It's quite stuck on.

Never removed mine - now on 7600 or so miles. Looks empty but dirty. Will try and clean it at some point - but gave the bike a bit of a clean yesterday (1st time in 3 months).

I understand it's not the most urgent maintenance job, just wanted to start somewhere (the other place i started is breaking some plastic clips on the rear grip handle cover! ) in terms of learning about the bike and each part etc.

anyway willl try blow dryer tomorrow and report back.

Is that tube sealed on the end? or do you just squeeze the end so that it opens - then let it drain?

Perhaps he/she is trying to take the bike off the tube rather than taking the tube off the bike.

well no... WN is soaping it up and you have waspmike in here with the exploded view and a spring clip tool. Maybe we heat it up with a torch and set the whole bike on fire ... just pull that off already... please.

Our dealer pulls it off with pliers on the metal clasp, then blows it clean with the air pipe.

If you really want to get it off, why not buy a spare in case you damage it? Then just tug away.
