Re: NCY transmission kit
Homie, my PCX hit 68mph when it was new last year. Now with 7,400 miles on it its top speed is 60. What would you suggest to get it back up to 68? Everything is stock on the engine. Brent!

Re: NCY transmission kit
Last years PCX's could never do 68mph stock... 64 was your top end. Do you still have the stock size tires? Have you been hanging around the donut shop? Maybe you could use a new set of rollers, those would be 16gram rollers in a stock 2015 PCX. Wow you do ride yours a lot, I will look at the service manual for 8k things to check out.Brent wrote:Homie, my PCX hit 68mph when it was new last year. Re: NCY transmission kit
Between 5k and 7.5k you had a lot of things to (clean, inspect, adjust, lubricate or replace) in the emissions related column. They are as follows and any of these could be dragging your anchor but remember you are only running 4 mph slower then a new stock 2016 PCX.
drive belt (inspect & clean) page 3-15
clutch shoe wear (inspect) page 3-23
fuel line (inspect) page 3-6
throttle operation (adjust) page 3-6
crankcase breather (clean) page 3-8
spark plug (should have been replaced at 5k) page 3-9
evaporative emission control system (if you have one) page 3-15
Of course fluids would be screaming if not maintained but wouldn't be slowing you down but stopping you, engine oil, coolant, final drive oil.
Then there is that last ditch thing that probably has nothing to do with speed but would be causing excessive engine noise...
Valve clearance inspection and adjustment page 3-10

Re: NCY transmission kit
Change the belt and rollers and your speed will go back up. Put 13 gram rollers in when you change the belt for a new one, and you will be impressed.
