Re: forum icon?
I've spent far too long now looking for a little twisting document thing in the far left column.
I'm inclined to believe I do not have that icon, so it must mean something special.

Re: forum icon?
Thanks for looking for them
no joke these irritate me so look closer please. We have a column to the far left without explanation that shows circles with and without little black dots. In the circle there are bells or documents that shake or don't. The only thing that is clear about these curious little icons is yellow means a new addition to the post.
The question;
1. What does the wiggling bell mean? and yes a wiggling bell vs one that dose not says the same thing when scrolled over.
2. What is the black dot on some of the circles around the bell mean?

Re: forum icon?
Mystery solved.
Right click on any icon you wish to know the meaning of and select open image in new tab.
The image name tells you what the icon is supposed to represent.
Moving document, colored = Topic unread, hot
Non-moving document, colored = topic unread
Non-moving document, black dot = top unread, mine
Non-moving document, white = topic read, mine
orangle blob w/ exclamation mark = unread sticky
gray blob w/ exclamation mark = sticky, read
arrow = topic moved
I'm sure there are more but those are what I could find on the first page of General

Re: forum icon?
MKE, I never would have taken this approach to reveling the definition of an icon.
Your experience is showing with your solution, I suspect you have some special abilities.
You can right click on buttons as well as icons
open link in new tab
scroll over the new tab (dont open it) and simply read the description that drops down
You be my I.T. guy from now on please

Oh, I've definitely been told I was special before, though I'm doubtful it was ever intended to be a compliment.
