Remove rear handle and licence plate holder

Post by Phil »

Hello everybody, new member from Germany asking first question.
Rode a 2010 PCX for 12000kms, then sold it, unfortunately.
Planning to get a new 2016 150ccm model. One thing I'de like to know, but I cannot recall any related details about the 2010 model:
- Can the rear handle bow above the tail light be removed without destruction/cutting?
- Can the license plate holder below the tail light be removed without destruction/cutting (and probably get replaced with something smaller)?
It is something like the Puig styling (external link!), that I am after.
But with the new model, not the first PCX like shown in the referred image.
Thanks for all your help. Very happy to get directed to old threads I might have missed.

it is easy to cut off the part that is hanging down below the plate, I did mine the 2nd day I owned it. Just a dremel cut off wheel or small saw that cuts plastic will do it...

^^ that looks so clean like that Glen! 8) Does the plate and frame get dirty on the backside?
I really like the lit frame you picked too.

The frame is a VOLOLIGHTS. A brake light frame that strobes when decelerating both from braking and from coming off throttle, works great. All internal, no wiring except 12v power.

Thanks a lot. Ordered new PCX 150 today. Should arrive within two weeks. Mods are no hurry, will take my time.
Hope licence plate holder can be removed and replaced completely, no cut off.

Here is a little more detail and a way to put you rear reflectors back on after the tidytail process.

Guys, thanks a lot. My attempt at getting a PCX 150 import vehicle in Germany failed for unknown reasons. Today I got hold of a new white NMAX 125 which was available immediately at my Yammi dealer (being sold out totally over here for 2016 afaik). As mentioned, I had been riding a PCX 125 for 12.000kms from 2010-2012, and I have been missing it since I sold it at that time.
Have a good time and good riding with your PCXs!
