Honda SH150i

I don't know much about this bike, other than its more expensive than the PCX. I guess this is built in Italy which makes it more expensive. It is 153cc so that's a bonus I guess.

I guess its an option for me (if you look at my other thread on buying a scooter) if I found the right one.

Can anyone shine some light on me about this scoot?

I kind of wanted to start a thread about "what would you pay"

Hi am selling my Honda sh150i with only 600 miles because I just purchased a smaller scooter for around town. The honda is highway legal and you do need a motorcycle license.

We looked at the SH150i when we bought the PCX just over a year ago. At the time, it had a nice rebate because they weren't much competition for the PCX125 with the $1,000 price difference. It seemed strange to me that they had the 110 elite, the 125 PCX and the SH150i... and then the Silverwing???? I don't understand why they don't have something in the 200-300cc range, but I digress. I thought the finish/build quality was nicer on the SH150i, it has 16 inch wheels instead of 14 and that might make it feel more stable at higher speeds, it is a bit faster than the PCX125. Long discussion and debate at our house but ultimately it was my choice and I wanted the PCX. Still, the SH150i is a fine scooter if you don't mind more traditional styling. It has a top box installed which is nice. I wouldn't pay more than $3,000 since the PCX150 is $3449 brand new, but I'd probably chose the new PCX150 if those were my choices.

Been reading up.

There are pro's and con's to everything.

Even the people that seem to absolutely love the SH seem to dislike the more "upright' or classical seating position.

It does have bigger wheels which is nice. The looks don't bother me. It definitely is not a classical vespa looking scooter, however the PCX looks better imo.

Its also finding the right deal. With only 600 miles on it, if I could get it for 2900-3000 that is a major win over the $4400 OTD the dealers want around here (that is the best number I have found) for a PCX 125 or 150.

The wife would prefer a full pass through for going to work, but has already agreed to a PCX 150.

I checked out one of these at a dealer while I was starting to look into bikes. The bike itself isn't bad looking and the big wheels are what got me interested.

However, the overbearing price point compared to other, similar displacement scooters seemed unwarranted. And once I opened the seat and saw that I MIGHT be able to fit a wallet in the storage compartment it got scratched off my list.

As far as wheel size goes, the PCX 14 inch wheels make for a very stable ride so the 16 inchers won't be a massive improvement.
Better over rough surfaces maybe, but not by much.
The thing to look at is how badly do you want a step through deck?
This combined with the bigger wheels robs the SH of a decent sized under seat storage compartment.
Honda have addressed this issue and the forthcoming 2013 model will now be able to accept a full face helmet.
As for seating position, unless you are small enough to utilise the feet forward potential of the PCX there is nothing to pick between them.

I don't like the seat positioning on the SH150i. They only get around 80mpg too, the engine technology is a decade or so behind the PCX.

They're still solid, good scooters though.

Today, I test rode a used SH150i and I felt the bike was too much money at $2599 and $2999 respectively, had uncomfotable seating, and awkward steering/handling with the tiny size of the handlebars.

Can't find any info on 2013 SH150i on search engines. I most likely wouldn't buy it but I am curious to read more and see pics.

Wonder if it is exactly the pcx 150 engine. It would make sense

It certainly would if the two were made in the same place, the SH used to be made in Europe, don't know if that's still the case.

Last year in the US, you could find an Elite 110, PCX125, and SH150 being sold side-by-side in your local Honda dealership. It’s not as crazy as it might seem. Honda regularly introduces, discontinues, and reintroduces scooters in the US, with few bikes staying in the pipeline multiple consecutive years. The 110 and 150 were 2010 models, and the 125 was a 2011 model. Honda introduces a bike on any given year, then lets it sit on the floor until it is all gone, which may take several years.

Technically Honda is selling only two scooters in 2013, the Metropolitan 50 and the PCX150. The Ruckus and Silverwing have been discontinued, but are still available.
