This has probably already been on here but I'm simply worried about reliability - so if I was to get a full 164cc kit and bolt that on (so to speak) would it still be as reliable as the standard 125cc pcx 2013 ?

I don't wanna ruin a good bike but I'm only topping out at 60 max !! My previous 125 would surpass this (maybe I've put on weight) lol but I looked at specs for this bike and my old bike and it seems my old bike had more power overall just shit design and was Italian (hard to get parts for) so I sold and got the Honda Pcx 125 2013 - but as I said I lack overall topspeed for the 20 miles a day trip I take to work and the road in the uk I ride on is a long stretch and 60mph apparently doesn't cut it as I'm always being over taken by people who are either dicks or just pure inpatient neither here nore there - what are the pros and cons of putting one of these kits on long term and short term good and bad :) day vs night ;)

You can fit a big bore kit but unless you do something with the transmission the top speed won't change that much.
There's plenty of stuff on the forum about pulley kits, etc.
Even fitting a set of 13 gram Dr pulley sliders in place of the rollers can help a bit for not much money

As for how reliable a 164 kit would be is anybody's guess.

Okay thanks for the reply - I just didn't wanna make the mistake of doing so much to it and ruining a good running bike - I've yet to change the rollers and belt plus bearings in the clutch as they are worn - but just wanted some more opinions on the matter

I presume you've a full licence? Obviously there's insurance and licence implications if a big bore kit is fitted.

I have significantly upgraded my scooter since last update on here.
I've installed latest yuminashi flat deck cylinder 164 with dome high comp piston in conjunction with 150 head! I'm finding it to be very powerful kit it also reliable so far. In fact I just had a big ride in to the hinterland hills over where I live with some other boys on bikes and scooters and came back home with no issues. I've been trying few variators to optimise the drive train as you know on a auto scooter if the drive train is not sorted well there is a big power loss to the wheel. I've had great results with Daytona, Takegawa and MFR2 Varios but I must say that I have managed to tune in to the perfection Yuminashi vario and it's brilliant! No need for spacers, washers tricks, it's just a great design vario. It has inovative design on its face that allows the pulleys to close up really tight on top speed allowing it to reach highest top end so far of any vario, it extends the gearing to 140kmh gps on the stand! I haven't had it to that speed on the road but that will all depend on road conditions at the time and a perhaps some decent screen but I have no trouble obtaining 120 and 130kmh with a quick tuck.
So, yes it's reliable, it's powerful, and it's a FUN. But also keep in mind that depending who builds it for you will depend on reliability it self. You have to be prepared to accept something possibly going wrong eventually, all modders know that..

Thanks for the post !! Was a good read ! , about reliability because of who ever does the rebuild , round here I don't think there's many people that are either that reliable or trust worthy that I could take it to but it's a risk no matter what really - but if they bodge it up then I'm screwed depending on what's gone wrong with it being it the engine or something , so that's why I'm a bit indecisive about doing such a mod to the bike atm , I do however think I will read more into it possibly look at the parts a lot more in detail and so on to get a good idea so that when I do come to have it done I'll know what I'm looking for
