I have noticed in my PCX. I experience a shuddering start on a cold bike. The bike vibrates a bit when I try to move from a stationary position.
Once it has gone a couple of miles, this problem goes away. is this normal ? or should a worry about it ?

Re: Shuddering start
I'd call that normal. Mine does it from time to time. Has to do with stiff belt and maybe a little dirt, both of which work/clean themselves out.

Re: Shuddering start
It's sometimes the clutch that causes it. It gets a bit glazed and judders. A few full throttle starts will soon deglaze them.

Re: Shuddering start
I love to give scooters what my Vespa dealer calls the "Italian Tune Up." I have no idea if that term has racist connotations, I apologize if it does.
The Tune Up consists of hard, full acceleration starts to blast the crap off the CVT and clear some carbon out of the exhaust. It can actually make a difference, especially if you're like me and usually scooter around like grandma going to church (slow, in the right lane, and at the speed limit while looking at scenery)

Heheh, it's a fairly commonly used phrase really.maddiedog wrote:I love to give scooters what my Vespa dealer calls the "Italian Tune Up." I have no idea if that term has racist connotations, I apologize if it does.
