Folks - Thanks in advance for your comments.

I have successfully changed engine oil and final drive oil.

I was wondering what else I could do (myself) without doing much damage and also preventing a bigger headache in the future. My pcx only as 3700 miles and what are the things I should worry about in future. I read about drive belts and it scares me to even touch those parts. BTW - anyone live in the Tampa FL area who could guide/ help me do some more preventive maintenance.

Any and all help is appreciated.

Drive belts aren't that scary. It's when you get into the insides of the engine that it gets interesting.

Your owner's manual has the maintenance schedule listed. If you do not have one, google it, it's available as a PDF.

Otherwise, I'd check the following:

Tire pressure/condition
Rear brake free-play
Brake fluid color (if it's brown, flush it down)

Drive belt doesn't need changed till 12,500 miles so no need to bother about it for a while yet.

You're technically supposed to inspect it at 5k, but it's not that difficult. Just pop off the cover, make sure it's in good condition, measure it if you want, etc.

Go out to the main forum, then to technical help. There is a How To sub forum there with walkthrough a and videos.

You're technically supposed to inspect it at 5k, but it's not that difficult. Just pop off the cover, make sure it's in good condition, measure it if you want, etc.

Technically you're supposed to have a Honda trained technician at a franchised Honda dealer inspect it...
If you don't know what you're looking for to decide if its in "good condition" or not, what's the point of inspecting it...?
PCX belts last longer than 12,500 so just leave it alone till then would be my suggestion.

That's how they make the money for sure.

If we're going to split hairs, belt replacement is after 15k miles per the 2013 owner's manual. Might be different for 2015 and newer PCX's

But of course, if one does not have the necessary skill-set and doesn't wish to figure it out and learn how to do the work themselves, they certainly can pay a technician to do it for them.

Mmmhmm. Only better motorcycle transmission for smoothness and maintenance is a shaft drive.

Sadly shaft drive has just about been consigned to the history books.
Very few bikes have it now, in the 80s there were far more options.
