A decent pair of gloves and/or bar muffs won't flatten your battery...

i find that the honda grips arent powerful enough to do much good but that might be because they are shutting themselves off so often at stop lights. i prefer lighter gloves so i might try some "bar muffs" this year. they also keep your hands dry in the rain!

How easy are these to fit really?
The most I have modified my bike is adding a clock with an alan key and sinlge screw.

Is this a job for me? (I'm not a complete idiot)

but those wintery nights are arriving and this seems useful!

Those are they. I painted the mounting bracket black because I'm fussy

There not too difficult but I'd say they shouldn't be your next job after the clock. You have to do a bit of fitting like trimming the ribs off the throttle tube. I also spaced out the bar ends rather than trimming the grips

I'm sure that they'd only be about an hour of labour max at a garage

These are much better than my BMW ones as they have four settings and go very warm. The BMW only has tepid and warmish

sounds strange to me. the bmw grips i have had were great! my OEM honda heated grips were a waste of money and very disappointing!

They've been like that from new otherwise I'd be tempted to remove the connectors and hardwire them in

I did that a few years ago on the wife's SV650 and it made a huge difference
