FOBO Tire Pressure Monitoring System

Has anyone used the FOBO Bluetooth Tire Pressure Monitoring System? I like the idea of seeing the tire pressure and temperature for my front and back tires on my iPhone. They replace the valve stem caps and weight 1/3 of an ounce. The company assures me they will have no effect on tire balance.

I like the dedicated systems. Looking at your phone before you start to ride is good but what happens if a problem starts while you are on the highway. The phone system might wear down your phone battery which you might need to call a friend because of your tire problem. I would like to get a system but haven't decided on the type yet.

I have a digital system right now, I kick the tire with my toe digit, if my toe hurts it is safe to ride.

I like this system, not concerned about things mentioned here, i'm in....will report in a few weeks when i install....added extra, it displays on my apple watch.

I also looked at the TPMS for motorcycles by Steelmate. It has a display that mounts to your handlebars, but it the sensors won't send tire pressure info until the bike is going at least 20kph. I'd prefer knowing the pressure before starting to ride. Of course, the iWatch display is a great advantage, and I could also mount my iPhone.

I looked at the steelmate system On Amazon. It is hardwired and I don't want more cheap displays up near my handlebars. I just want to be able to look at the pressure on my watch or my phone as I walk towards the bike to get on it. FOBO Does that.....

Let us know how accurate it is as compared to a mechanical gauge. Lot of variables ie heat , centrifugal forces, vibration, pot holes, pounding, rain , puddles cold, etc etc.

Totally cool idea.

I have a system like this on my car (it came with it when I bought it -- I'm way to cheap to spend extra on such a thing) and it's saved me from ruining my tires several times in the eight years I've had the car. The numbers are so-so accurate, but if the tire starts to lose significant air the warning light comes on and I deal with it before I ruin the tire. Gotta love yer tech.

I have the Steelmate TP-90 on my Forza. Works quite well.

I just installed the FOBO tire pressure sensors on my Honda Forza 300. I like the way the app on my iPhone shows the pressure and temperature. My concern is the clearance on the rear tire. The sensor doesn't touch but comes very close to the transmission case at a point in the tire rotation. If only the sensors were a narrower diameter. I've attached a photo. It's hard to get my phone in position for a clear photo. It might or might not be a problem.

I'll have mine on the pcx Tuesday.....they are plastic and weigh next to nothing, not concerned in the least about the "weight".

I like this concept. I put Ride-on tire balancing sealant in my rear Forza tire on Saturday. You put it in via the valve stem. That core is one small piece of machinery. I would think checking the tires every ride would eventually introduce dirt into it. At 120 kmph that core is all that is keeping air in your tire. Scary actually.

Let us know how this works out for you. I might go this route.

Amazed the tiny CR2032 batteries can last up to 2 yr's on blue-tooth - usually bluetooth is a fairly heavy battery drain. Must be sporadic and very low power TX seeing it's just sending a few metres.
