I know this has been discussed before, but....
Dealer just called to offer me the Honda Care extended warranty (5-year) for $200. Down from $798. Is this now a good deal or still not worth purchasing? I'm leaning no since any defects that might arise will do so within the first year.
Thoughts please!
PS: the 150 is "three weeks old" today, with about 260 miles on the clock.

Re: HondaCare warranty
Give the money to charity, ride your scooter and trust in whatever God you feel comfortable with
Re: HondaCare warranty
No. They are trying to lock you in to continue paying scheduled warranty servicing with them. If you decide to do your own service then they will say the waranty is no longer valid.
Re: HondaCare warranty
I bought a Honda so I wouldn’t have to buy an extended warrantee.
I am blessed to live a block from the best scooter mechanic in the St. Louis region. Before I bought the PCX he encouraged me to buy a Vespa and budget for maintenance over the long haul, which he said would not be cheap, but would keep me smiling for a long time. According to him Vespas live forever if you change parts on them regularly. Meanwhile out of the other side of his mouth, he let slip “if everyone rode a Honda, I would be out of a job”.
Add to that my wife’s 12 year, 160K mile experience with a Honda Civic and almost zero repairs, and an extended warrantee becomes worthless.

If it wasn't to their benefit they wouldn't offer it

In the USA, you don't necessarily have to do dealer maintenance to maintain the warranty. Check with your dealer though, just to make sure.
For $200 I would have certainly bought it for my PCX.

Re: HondaCare warranty
Ended up passing it up... the only half-hearted effort by the sales guy was the warranty's value at time of trade-in or resale. Neither of which I don't anticipate happening in the next few years.
