Yep wood/foam, etc., yep yep I think so, too, George. Definitely need to do something a little 'more' to be able to stop 100% safely in the rainy season but for now it should be fine - will know for sure after the written test on Monday, take her out on Tuesday and play w/her a bit taking off/stopping, repeat all day ha! I'm pretty sure it'll be the most fun I've ever had under 10mph.
Oh will see about adding bumps to the soles of the boots, too before it rains. Whatever the boot guy "cobbler" (yes Homie thank you, that's the proper term) thinks he can do to give the boots the best traction / grip possible. People who are professionals in whatever they do do know best of course.
Thanks for the kudos, I'm determined to become 1 with the scooter sooner than later. Been telling the BF all the forum threads, including this one, and driving him nuts with my enthusiasm as usual haha! You'd think he'd be used to it by now. The dog will be spoiled yes, good idea always
Stay safe in the water!!!
ps. I'll see about that safety course just as soon as I'm done riding like a complete idiot ~ I'm still in the phase where I have to look down to see where the kickstand is & have a giant bruise on my leg from it, too!
