I saw a white interceptor just like the one featured come at me today and it was obvious with that distinctive headlamp design and LED's. The whale of that V-4 and the back end in my mirror was a beautiful thing. You know I like white on bikes and this Honda LOOKS AND SOUNDS GREAT!

When I get back from VACA I think it will be time to visit the Honda dealer and learn more from the sales floor whilst we hunt reviews and video online.

For me this a true scooter like motorcycle; Automatic, under seat storage, good fuel economy..... and look out for the awesome discounts. I have been looking at the Interceptor for a long time also, but I think that I would probably get this if I could convince myself that I need more vehicles in my driveway.

Well the exact bike I was lusting after earlier this year when I started this thread (a 2014 pearl white deluxe model) went on sale for a price I couldn't resist so I took the plunge and made the trade. I took some pics of my PCX with the Interceptor which I'll post below. I felt a little sad leaving her behind but the Interceptor is freaking awesome fun - as I was riding home on the highway I looked down and the speedometer said 117 :D

I think one of the reasons for the pcx is to get riders interested in the bigger bikes eventually. However, many of us just enjoy tooling around town on our little PCX. I have had big bikes, and I loved them. However, when old age starts knocking at the door, some of us have to decide what our priorities are and choose only one. I chose the pcx because I am riding less and less, but when I do ride I don't want to worry about gears, plus I love the fact that I can just about go anywhere in town without worrying about where to park it. I just pull up onto the sidewalk and put it on its center stand beside a wall. It isn't in the way at all.
Currently own:
Red 2013 Honda PCX150

Givi tall windshield & tailbox - Lots of extra lights
Custom seat from Thailand - Bad Boy Airhorn
Takegawa Lowering Shocks - Michelin City Grip Tires
Headlight assy upgraded to LEDs w/HS5 main bulbs
NCY variator, drive face, and rollers

Yes, same boat. Long gone is feeling invincible. Limited time left for me on real bikes.

Proper bikes are the future though

I liked to do the same thing with my PCX at my gym and grocery store - there was usually at least one other motorcycle doing the same thing so I figured there was safety in numbers even though there are signs saying don't park on the sidewalk. Nice thing about the Interceptor is it has a center stand so I can take up a bit less room on the sidewalk than a bike leaned over - hopefully I won't get towed / ticketed :D

That is one nice bike for the money, yep the intercepted is everything I want in that class. I'm betting Honda made it well like the precious and even sounds like a PCX under 20mph LOL. But when its whaling on the Causeway I'm with you. When I lived in Clearwater the super bikes were on the causeways every weekend turning top speeds back and forth in the wee hours of the morning. It was just the place to take your bike if you wanted to go fast. Well lighted and wide open, police never bothered anyone because there was no traffic at that hour. You could hear them screaming and you knew they were racing but no one cared, I'd be fishing, I wondered if they ever cracked down on the sport bikes. Try just two fingers on the clutch, is all you need and much faster. There are some great vid's on handling these brilliant machines and getting to most from that build.

LMAO Homie! This bike is fairly well equipped but I did not spring for the optional whaling harpoon :D However, it did come standard with a wailing V4 engine.

Yeah this stretch of road is very nice because the causeway/bridge is long and straight and pretty smooth - there's usually hardly any traffic and there's no place for the cops to hide on the bridge :D

As for the clutch, I'm still getting used to the fact that it's not a rear brake lever :D

I would like to see it with the passenger seat and no cover, also WOW center stand how handy. You were able to start up with the side stand down, I thought that was a thing of the past. There is a lot to enjoy with Interceptor IMO.

Its good looking and probably dosent weight much, very efficient power train and transmission. You said 11 in the quarter, how much HP? That whole front end is a bill board of possibilities for graphics. LED's, adjustable shocks, traction control, ABS... dam it's a Cadillac in the 800cc's for Honda. I want one! I could appreciate a FEW creature features without having to go cruiser and 800 lbs.

Well, obviously it's not PCXish in the least. Obviously also, you are looking for something with more power, more highway capability and, let's face it, more respect from the cycle crowd than the PCX has to offer. So I would say: Do what you are going to do anyway and get the thing.

Personally I don't want the hassle of a manual transmission. Also I don't like the leaning forward riding position of sport bike. And I don't like the heavy handling of a 800cc motorcycle.

Usually on manual bikes the sidestand cut-out is linked to neutral, so long as its in neutral it will start with the sidestand down.
CVT scooters have no neutral so usually the sidestand will kill the ignition.
Peugeot are the only manufacturer with an intelligent system, the scooter can start and idle with the sidestand down but the engine will not rev up till the stand is retracted.
Four decades on two wheels has taught me nothing, all advice given is guaranteed to be wrong

Those French are savvy engineers, all right. My Peugeot 404 had the most ingenious theft protection system--the door locks (visible at the base of the window) pulled up to lock and pushed down to unlock.

Congrats on the new bike, GatorGreg. It's a beauty!

Yep, bike was in N when I started it in video with sidestand down. If I were to then put it in gear without having first raised the sidestand I'm pretty sure it would kill the engine.

Thanks Bash On! I remember my Dad had a Peugeot sedan when I was a kid - funky car - I think he got it right before they stopped selling in the USA - he had a difficult time finding parts for it when it broke down which was frequently as I recall :D

Hey Homie, it's fairly heavy, around 495lbs dry and 529 wet if I recall correctly, and I definitely notice it when trying to maneuver it when stopped - notice how much trouble I had turning around in the first median that I overshot? I was afraid if I backed up too much I might get hit so I decided to just drive through the grass :D Once you start moving though the weight seems to disappear.

As for hp, I think Honda claimed 104 horsepower when it came out, but most magazine reviews with dynos have it in the mid nineties I think. Many reviewers think it's underpowered but I'm very happy with it so far - although I would imagine someone used to supersports would be disappointed.

I'll try to take some pics with the rear seat installed later this week.

Also, I'm thinking of getting this exhaust - check out this vid, I think you'll like what you hear :D

Hey Zonker, I already made the trade. Main thing I miss about the PCX so far is the underseat storage - I already bought a nice Honda logoed backpack to carry odd stuff around that normally I would have shoved under the seat of the PCX. I love the riding position though - I feel more involved in the process - the PCX was so laid back and comfortable I would sometimes become a bit complacent - the Interceptor forces me to pay 100% attention to what I'm doing. I do like being more highway capable as I can ride my Interceptor to visit my Dad in no time and I'd love to take it on a cross country trip next summer.
