My Wedsday ride
Got up this morning and decided to take a ride. Without a destination in mind I left Attalla. Alabama on hwy 278 headed toward Arab, Al. In Arab I took hwy 69 to Decatur, Al. In Decatur I rode over to point mallard to check out campgrounds. I didn't want to ride back the same way so I headed toward Huntsville. Now I'm riding along about 50 mph in right lane when all of a sudden the right lane shoots off to Iinterstate 565. I can't get over so here I am on the interstate on my scooter for the next 20 miles doing 65 to 70 mph trying not to get run over. To me 50 to 55mph is ideal speed for this scooter. It handled the 70 mph very well for the 20 miles. Boy was I happy to get off this road alive. In Huntsville I hit hwy 431 for the ride home. Altogether I rode 181 miles. I have put a little over 700 miles on this bike and for my type of riding I couldn't be more satisfied. If I was going to ride the Interstate most of the time I would buy bigger scooter. Love my Forza rmc10
Re: My Wedsday ride
I rode my Forza one mile on the interstate.....and rarely ride my 400 Burgman on the highway.
Done about 25,000 miles on scooters in the past 3 yrs...never needed an interstate highway.
I suspect they are probably many times safer though....just doesn't feel safer.

I know exactly what you mean! I've only done a couple longer rides on my Forza. It can handle 70 easily but there is a sweet spot around 55. It all just hums!

Is the scoot unstable for you at 55+ or is it just a comfort thing?

I ride long distances at 70 mph and it is just fine. But I prefer slower speeds. But in the mountains sometimes there is only one road and no choice but to go 70. Last weekend I did about 1200 km over 4 days. It handles distances with no problem. The tall screen helps a lot.

Re: My Wedsday ride
I visit my mom in Florida once or twice a year and have taken multiple trips (1200 miles each way) on both a Burgman 400 and 650. I normally take I95 the whole way except for the Washington Beltway (I495) , the Richmond beltway I295, and a 1 hour stretch on the Florida Turnpike. I just made the trip, this time with my Prius, and I was wondering how I would feel doing it with the Forza. I think it would be ok, but I agree with the others who say a bigger bike would be "better". Maybe I'll attempt it in November.
