I doubt it is high up in the Honda global agenda.gn2 wrote:If there's to be any change it will probably be announced at EICMA next month.

Looks like a Forza but maybe it was done right?DioTiAma wrote:Check the new Yamaha X-MAX 300A 2017 and forget about Honda Forza 300. It's obsolete.

"He who laughs last, laughs best"... Dave, in my opinion, Honda will present 2016 Forza's 125 body with 2016 SH300i's engine... In a bit... Though 2017 Yamaha X-MAX 300A tends to be perfect. Specially at €5.500!

Hi DioTiAma,
The Yamaha X Max does look really awesome, it is something I would absolutely consider over the Forza... Its best feature is BIGGER WHEELS, exactly why I bought the SH150i
From the picture it has ABS, and I like the keyless, and LED's, it does have a lot of nice technology. But that leads to another question, is it going to be available in the USA ??? I do not see it on the USA website, so I am guessing not

Spec looks good, but it fell out the ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down.

Ugly, the PCX has a timeless design with the Yamaha looks dated already. I sure hopes it rides better than the SMAX which borders on terrible at least for me in the handling dept.

Very true, but its people's opinions which determine the success or otherwise in the sales league tables.DioTiAma wrote:Ugly or otherwise is just a matter of opinion.
Yamaha's Xmax sales have been on a downward trend since they started going all points and angles.
The good news is the new motor, the Xmax250 was long overdue an update.
Hopefully it will have Yamaha's usually long valve clearance check intervals.

I like a lot of it but the main negative for me looking at the pictures is a lack of leg stretch room.

I though the exact same thing! But, after taking a good look at the pictures, i'm pretty sure that the guy riding it is like 1,97m!!! Scooter is 2,18m... Picture him stretched... Maybe he is even 2,21m!!!

I would never be able to ride it with my legs in that position for very long. Need to stretch them out. I'll keep my Forza.
Re: 2017 Model Forza, Will it exist in the USA ???
You can probably get your feet up there, but its unlikely to be comfortable unless you have very short legs.
Looks just like the J300/Downtown in this regard.

Now that I look at that guys riding position on the Yamaha X Max 300A, that does SUCK. There is nowhere to put your feel forward on a long ride, those upper foot placements are USELESS unless you are a midget. Having my legs bent that much for hours with no possible way to stretch out would be HORRIBLE.
The thing I liked about the Forza is how comfortable it is, and it cruiser like riding position would be perfect on long trips, So I will stick with a Forza.
UGLY or PRETTY: I could not care less. How much I enjoy riding it, and how comfortable it is, handling, vibration, is EVERYTHING. I do not give a rats arse if people admire it while its parked or not. I am a rider, not a poser.

In essence it is more of a sporty type scooter than a cruiser.

I also expect it to cost quite a bit more than the current Forza.

If imore expensive than a Forza, it won't succeed.Embattle wrote:I also expect it to cost quite a bit more than the current Forza.
The Peugeot Satelis 400i is the same price as a Forza, but crucially Peugeot does not yet have ABS fitted across its range.
When ABS goes on the Satelis 400i whatever price it is, the Xmax 300 will need to be cheaper.

I would pay considerably more money for a Honda or Yamaha quality. The brand history and reputation can easily bring in a higher price.
I really like the looks, and specs on the Xmax 300, price would not be a factor if I like the scooter. But the upright seating position is a deal killer for me, it looks like it would be a lot like riding my Honda SH150i, great around town for rides of an hour or less, but horribly uncomfortable on a 8 hour ride out in the country that I like to do.
