How-To: Convert 2013 to LED superbright headlight

Post by easyrider »

I made this modification using LED 3000 lumen bulbs I got off the internet. They were universal for motorcycles but the box was marked 3C .. I think H4 is the most common. Relatively easy project not long at all and man o man.. the brightness is super intense as compared to the stock bulbs. Here is a photo instructional link that I made if anyone is interested . FYI..the beam alignments are perfect as I checked against the original setup side by side. Hope you enjoy !!

Kudos to you - I would have to be damn sure it was going to work before I cut up the OEM light fitting. Very happy it worked out, and thanks for both taking the chance and posting a very happy result.
On my scoot, getting there is WAY more than half the fun!

Actually the OEM wiring was not harmed. I spliced into the wiring and left the factory plugs intact just in case a bulb goes out I could always just plug in the original halogen bulb. I designed so that all the original wiring and components are unharmed , still usable, and ready. Thanks, the project turned out way better than expected.. lights are super bright .. the soccer moms cant miss me now ..LOL.. HMMM!, They will find a way !!!

Great idea! If I get brave enough I may try it. I have added little and big led lights around the main headlights just because they are so weak-looking in comparison. In fact, when I look at the regular headlights I often wonder if they are burning out or something because they look so weak. Do you have a Web link to the bulbs?

I ordered these about 3 months ago on a whim to study, then after a month or so I got an email stating they were not available and they did not ship or charge me and were cancelling the order, Just the other day they came in the mail ?? No charge ?? I could not remember where I ordered them from because it was on a lark and so long ago, but pretty sure it was an Ebay item from China. The box had M3c motorcycle headlight written on it.. No instructions/no paperwork .. just in a large padded envelope. However I think this is the one .FYI I only installed one and kept the other halogen as I want to modulate that one. The brightness of one is phenomenal, but being Chinese I am not ready to trust them completely so I left one halogen in.. One LED is plenty enough , it overwhelms the halogen so much its not even seen.

Does it have an highbeam setting, or just one brightness/aim level?

Was that $10.45 each? Not bad for a much brighter headlight assembly.
By the way, for anyone who would like to connect additional front LED accessory lights to their bike and want them to come on when you start the bike, along with the headlights, there is a simple way to do it. I discovered it during the Christmas Holidays. I will be glad to tell you if there is any interest. It took me 30 minutes to do the entire install.

I know this has been a while. I just bought a 2013 PCX 150 (Black) and I want to add LED strips to make it more visible, especially at night. What is the simple way to do this? Thank You, in advance!!
