Honda High Windscreen too Tall

The Honda High Windscreen is a little too tall for me. I am 5 foot six and my iCon Variant helmet needs a little more air to stay fog free and to blow the rain off the shield.

Does anyone have experience in cutting the plastic windscreen?

I probably need to cut two inches off. I might try a half inch at a time.

I would like to look over the windscreen. Now it is at my eye level. Annoying.

The other possibility is to put a deflector on the top of the windscreen. I think that it would be visually distracting.

If I ruin the Honda windscreen I might try a Givi adjustable screen.

Windshields are pretty easy to cut. A Dremel cutting wheel will work fairly well if you already have a Dremel, or you can go with the correct tool, a saber saw with a fine-tooth blade. Just be sure to mask the area around your cut line so the cutting tool doesn't scratch the windshield. Then use a Dremel barrel sander (my favorite) or other sanding device to smooth the new windshield edge and make it real purty-lookin'.

Voila! A beautiful, correct-height windshield, with the possible bonus of new tools for your toolbox. Win-win...

I have a Dremel and will use it when it warms up a bit.

Even with the dremel, take Johnny's advice and tape well the whole area on the screen where you will be working. Draw your line on the tape and go slow. Expect some stink from overheated tape and plastic.

I have an Izotto brand rotary tool, and used it last weekend to trim a pod down for my AFR gauge.
I was surprised how much effort it took to cut through soft thin plastic. It melted more then it cut, really...
So be prepared for a long session trimming that thick Plexi or acrylic down over a foot or more of length.
At least the good thing for me was that the soft plastic sanded down flat very easily when finishing the cut.

So should I use a high, medium or slow rpm setting on the dremel to cut the plastic with a 30 mm abrasive wheel or a 20 mm steel wheel?

I used a 30mm abrasive wheel and it got the job done. Maybe it felt tricky because of the tight curve of the gauge pod? But I have cut steel with it.
I think with a 20mm disc you'd be scraping the chuck along face of the screen after so long, so be sure to cut from the waste side to avoid dragging.
I ran mine on medium speed so it wouldn't bog down. High speed seemed to melt the plastic even more, and it shakes quite a bit when going faster.

Sorry I take that back. The guys at National say no to a jig saw-
either sand or if more needs to be taken off try a hacksaw or grow a couple inches.

57 & old age so I am probably shrinking. I just need a little more air to keep my visor clear.

wish my tall windshield was taller. At 5'9" it needs maybe an inch or two. Better than original but no need to buy dremel and etc. LOL good luck.
