Useful additions
I was just wondering after you purchased your PCX what have been some of your favorite additional purchases to make your riding more fun, comfortable, memorable etc.
I have a page on Facebook that since we are in the early stages of "riding season" (for those who don't ride year round) that I am going to post about things we add to our scooters. It can be anything from things to mount our cell phone, adding GPS, drink holders, types of helmets, Bluetooth, sound systems, new horn, comfort items like no hump seats (2013). Just wanted feedback from a bigger group and will be doing posts on my page the next several weeks.
I hope this becomes a big feature on my Facebook page.
Thanks for your input

Re: Useful additions
Ear plugs. Long rides are unbearable for me without em.
Everything looks better from the inside of a motorcycle helmet...
Re: Useful additions
I love my Dr Pulley sliders, mirror extenders and YSS rear shocks, all of which I need for my size.
Nice things to have are my 1/6th turn throttle tube (1/4 turn stock) and PowerByPCX seat.
And it's always nice to know the temperature and time courtesy of my digital speedometer.

So here's a question. If you use ear plugs, does that not mean that you will not be able to hearalx123 wrote:Ear plugs. Long rides are unbearable for me without em.
traffic and other noises that might be important when driving?
I mean, in the old days of manual gears n' such, it was important to hear the rpm's so you knew
when to change gears but still would that not be a bit dangerous?

Re: Useful additions
NCY variator and clutch pulley (no more awful sounds from the bearing) and the HID lights upgrade make riding at night a pleasure and so much safer in daylight. Powerbypcx seat.
My PCX mod build here..

Doesn't block all noise, just reduces volume to a lower level to protect your hearing.guiri wrote:So here's a question. If you use ear plugs, does that not mean that you will not be able to hearalx123 wrote:Ear plugs. Long rides are unbearable for me without em.

Re: Useful additions
I only added a real windshield and a topbox, which most people would do, I think. Other than those, a motorcycle intercom with FM radio. I also got some RAM mounts, and they are very nice, but for me most times not necessary.

New MP Motor seat, Givi tailbox and tall windshield, RAM mounts, Kawell spot lights, Knight Riderz tail light/stop light, lots of extra LED lights - front and back, some small strobe lights for visibility at night, Cramp Buster for the throttle, Battery Tender, USB outlet, City Grip Tires, NCY Variator, Drive Face, and 13 gm rollers.
I wonder if I forgot something on this list...Hmm...oh, and a Tourmaster Sonora 3/4 Air mesh jacket, plus motorcycle gloves and riding boots, as well as a Thor Kidney belt/back brace, plus a helmet of course.

Re: Useful additions
Heated grips. If I could have only one thing on a stock PCX, it would be the grips.

Re: Useful additions
I have added heated grips for these cold months, grip guards for the cold wind,
low cost Bestem trunk, LED daytime running lights and removed the Hump on my 2013 seat.
From All those I would remove the seat hump first, grip guards second, heated grips third and trunk last.

Re: Useful additions
It is actually making it more safer for me as it blocks all the unnecessary wind noise. I can clearly hear other cars , bikes etc w/o the distractions. All those high decibels noise are not so good on our naked exposed ears and can cause hearing problems someday. Riders are prone to it.guiri wrote:So here's a question. Re: Useful additions
Prestige emblems
They have no function, and they're a non-moving addition. They just sit there and look purdy
I'm quite pleased with the quality of them as well! Wait...I'll show you
A few of us sport these on our fairings.
Hmm, I wonder if member homie still has a link to them? We'll wait and see
