Man, do those ads bring back some great memories and feelings
I remember buying my first ST70. Didn't have a clue how to ride, and during my first test ride I opened the throttle wide and ended up hitting the brick wall at the dealers .
No real damage done, except for my pride.
After that, I had years of fun on that great little bike. Couldn't wait to get on it every chance I could.
I had a Scrambler 350 and a 450. They were great bikes!
I upgraded to a CL350 in 1971. I rode it from New Orleans all the way to Atlanta, Georgia AND BACK.
My brother, a few years later, got a Honda CB550. Now THAT was a bike to own! He put a sissy bar in the back, loaded his gear, and cruised the United States. I wish I could have gone with him but I was married with a child, so I had to be responsible. He let me ride his. I wanted one so bad! Instead, I bought a Mustang. Yep, I was responsible.
Honda has made some really nice bikes, though their first ones were laughable. That was when I owned a Harley. Now,...now though I would love to have one of those bigger Hondas, I don't think I would get much riding done.
Currently own:
Red 2013 Honda PCX150 Givi tall windshield & tailbox - Lots of extra lights Custom seat from Thailand - Bad Boy Airhorn Takegawa Lowering Shocks - Michelin City Grip Tires Headlight assy upgraded to LEDs w/HS5 main bulbs NCY variator, drive face, and rollers
WN - great posting with all those vintage advertisements!
Last weekend I actually saw . . . or at least think I saw . . . a yellow Honda CT 70 on one of my rides around the waterfront. It was the frame that caught my attention.
Wouldn't it be great to have the resources and space that this guy does to build such a huge collection of toys.
