What to do when the wheels are off

I'm new to scooter ownership, but old to "wish I would have done that when..."

I took my front and rear wheels off and got the local shop to put on new tires. My 2013 PCX150 is at 3000 miles. Most of the miles mine from a season of riding. I wanted to get the old tires off and new Michelin City Grips on.

Before I put them back on is there anything I should look at or do. My 2013 PCX150 is at 3000 miles. I'm assuming there is plenty of wear left on the brakes. Though to be honest I don't what I'm looking for there.

What else should I peek at, pull, press or poke?

Any advice about putting the wheels back on? Grease? I used a breaker bar with a mallet to get them off. I was going to do the same to get them on.

I don't working on the scoot, but I'd rather be riding it.

At 3000 miles? Nothing.
Put the wheels back on and ride the thing.
Wee smear of grease on the drive splines and front wheel spindle and all will be well.

A breaker bar and a mallet for the reinstall!?
That could go sideways......
Know anyone with a decent torque wrench?
Factory tightened fittings are often very very tight first time loosened. Does not give a good indication of force needed for proper tightening at the refitting.

Since it's a 2013, check the valve stems on both wheels. They tend to dry over time and fail when you least expected. You might wan't to add some grease to the bearings of the rear CVT pulley. Those where not properly greased at the factory.

The rear wheel will go back on much easier if you loosen the back brake adjuster before install.
Don't forget to snug the brake back up after install.

A 2013 with only 3,000 miles...a dream machine with low miles. I have two of them, both with Michelin City Grips. I wouldn't have any other tires on them.
As far as I know the only problem any of us have had with the 2013 model was the clutch bearing at close to 10,000 miles. Not all of them have had that problem, so I would not worry about it unless you start hearing a grinding noise in the rear.

If you have problems putting your bike back together it would be wish to have a copy of a service manual, and a friend who knows about bikes. In many ways a scooter is just a motorcycle with an automatic transmission, though I wouldn't tell Vespa owners that.
