I noticed in another picture that the cable from the GPS runs down the steering column with the other cables, etc. Where have you got it plugged in?

you can connect directly to battery or tap one of the fuse so that only power up the gps when you start the bike ... it's to supply power to the gps unit

garmin zumo 660 is waterproof and one of the most advanced gps unit for motorcycle

NICE.....I had my ZUMO hard-wired to my Battery on my old PCX125, and it would sometimes pull the Battery down pretty low after about 3 hours of continued riding. Not sure why really because it "should" draw very little. I could turn it off for a little while, and the Battery would come back up, and if I didn't have it on while riding, this never happened, so it had to be the culprit. I've ran it on dozens of Motorcycles and 250 to 600 Scooters with no issues. Due to this, I've never installed it on my PCX150. I'm planning on mounting it on my Forza300 when it arrives.....

I believe that most if not all of them have an internal battery. Just charge it before you leave. An appropriate adapter is likely available at most electronics shops. If not, try eBay.

The 660 is a really Cool biker gps! I'm curious how user friendly it really is, and how the screen looks on a sunny day? Good luck with yet "another" fun toy

Pena, have you used it yet? I'm interested in one, because I want to be able to map out a ride online and send it to a unit, and thought there'd be a solution for my phone to do this, but haven't found one yet. However, the Zumo's seem pretty chunky, and pricey. They had a 220 model which was much smaller, but seems to be out of production.

I was about to post that our Garmin Nuvi (automobile version) has an internal battery and it is really not adequate for much use.
BUT ... looked at the Garmin web site ... it revealed the Zumo has an internal battery with estimated 7 hours of life vs. 2 hours for my Nuvi.
That could be reasonable for use without a power tap.
Well ... except it's really spendy to purchase.

Bicyclists on tandem bikes pin the route sheet to the driver's back so the stoker can read out the directions.
HEY ... a good reason to buy us a pair of Bluetooth communicators!
Dang, that would also be spendy.
