New PCX-150 Rider Here

Post by foggyhelmet »

Howdy folks!

It's good to have a forum to discuss the PCX ....I'm sure I will learn quite a bit here. When I get a good picture of my bike I will post it. Not that I purchased it to drive in the snow, but the inclement weather is coming up soon. Just black ice today, and the bike handled itself marvelously.

As you can guess by my name I do not yet have an anti-fog visor. Quite interesting riding in chilly weather going back and forth between shutting and opening the visor!

Welcome fellow PCXer! You're braver than me, I won't ride any moderate distance with temps under 45 degrees. I'm terrified of black ice!!

Hi foggy! Temps are dropping here as well :( and I play the same game with my visor. Always makes me smile "later" when I think about it. I won't be riding in cold wet snowy icy weather though so not a biggie. Yep, we'll be waiting for "The Photo(s)" so you pegged us right on that!
Caution on the black ice :o Yikes!!

Black ice? That can be hard to stand on, much less be on 2 wheels. Be careful out there!

Hey foggy! I'm a new rider too. Gotta say you're a brave one. 50 degrees is my cutoff, until I get my windscreen. No issues with black ice, although I DID have a little incident with some leaves in a curve last week! Just a little slippage and my heart stopped for a sec, but I wasn't going too fast and the PCX was up to the task, so no harm done.

Just put an order in for my new PCX 150 - my first ever scooter or road bike (I did lots of trail riding as a teen, but that was 20 years ago!). Made this choice after a lot of research, but in the end, nothing else stacked up to this Honda model. Will pick up on 9 November. Can't wait...
White 2013 PCX150 -- lovin' it, but also thinking about a NC750D Integra upgrade in late 2014! We'll see...

New PCX 150 owner checking in!

My background is that I inherited a moped scooter earlier this year, and all the enjoyment of riding the moped came right back after 35+ years of only 4-wheel driving... :) Now I'm slightly to heavy for the moped :o and started to scout around for something a little more forceful but still practical and easy to handle. After much searching I ended upp with this new white PCX 150. Now all I have to do is get a drivers license for it also... :? but at least I have a good incentive now!!

Welcome to you too beos59! You are one of the many here that have returned to riding Congrats on joining us! I agree, it would be a very good thing to obtain a license (soon).
BTW...Brilliant choice of color, your White is! :D

Thanks WhiteNoise! I really didn't have any choice, the only 150 was white! Strange that you don't get white in the US? What kind of policy is that? But I must say I think the red one looks fancy... :)

Well, I've had my white delight for about a week now. Done about 150 km around town so far, just running it in (and loving it to bits)! Couldn't be happier with the choice - it's zippy, manoeuvrable, fuel efficient and simply a pleasure to ride.

I hope to try it out on a highway road soon, on a short fast run.

Nice! Envy that you can ride throughout the year there down under. Just put on spiked winter tires on the car and the PCX will now sleep for five months to next season... Enjoy!
