First meetup ride was a blast!

I joined two groups on meetup.com - one a scooter group for my area, and the other a motorcycle group (both central NJ). The scooter group seems to arrange rides a few times a year, whereas the cycle group puts together a few rides each week/weekend. I participated in my first one yesterday, about 60 miles, with the cycle group. Of a dozen riders, 3 of us were new, and I was the only one not on a motorcycle. The group was really impressed with the PCX150 being capable of 55-60 mph on a highway for an exit or two (all the route required), and doubly-wowed when I told them what my average MPG was. I'll admit, being staggered around a good couple rumbling Harley's makes me think there will be more to my riding career than just this scooter, but I was easily able to hang with the "big boys" and was as welcomed as the other guys. Definitely looking forward to the next one as long as it's above 50º!

We have a few groups around here that meet, the rides are always a lot of fun.

Most of the rides I end up going on have 5-8 riders, but there's a few yearly with 50-200 riders, sometimes even more.

I don't know of any scooter ones in northeast louisiana
