Stretched engine mount
Just trying to see if anyone would be interested in stretch mounts for the PCX 150? I'm going to start testing a prototype within the next few months.

Re: Stretched engine mount
Fill us in. Webike has one that's just the mount, doesn't include extended shock mounts, and it runs $80 for a 3" extension.

Re: Stretched engine mount
It is listed as for the 125.
Re: Stretched engine mount
yeah i was checking that out on webike, the madmax mount. 3" is nothing. you could do that with the stock mount pretty easy.

Re: Stretched engine mount
Just out of curiosity, what is gained by stretching the engine mount out? Is it fully cosmetic?

It's to keep the frontend down when doing wheelies.

Just strictly cosmetic. Here are some stretched PCX's

Check out the green pcx at this link.

Re: Stretched engine mount
Gotcha.
Hey, I've seen a PCX do a wheelie before, and even accidentally done one myself when messing around!
That PCX looks cool! Weird suspension setup. Looks like it has 15" or 16" wheels.

Re: Stretched engine mount
interesting concept are you coming from the ruck or crotch rocket scene. the only problem i have with it is not sure how it will look without side bags. and it also adds some stability for highway speeds

Re: Stretched engine mount
I'm too classy for the ruckus. I come from this scene, but i rode a Zuma 125. But yes i'm all into custom fab scooter stuff. Here is my last project i finished for the wife.mikelx5 wrote:interesting concept are you coming from the ruck or crotch rocket scene. the only problem i have with it is not sure how it will look without side bags. and it also adds some stability for highway speeds

Re: Stretched engine mount
I think we can do 6 inches, but then i have to figure out some kind of shock blocks so the angle isn't so sharp.

Re: Stretched engine mount
Could you just make extensions? Also doesn't stretching smooth out the ride?
Re: Stretched engine mount
For 3 inch extension no further mods are required to the bike, however i might be wrong but i'm quite certain that for 6 inch extension one needs to modify brake and throttle cable and also top mounts for the rear shocks..dem0nk1d wrote:I think we can do 6 inches, but then i have to figure out some kind of shock blocks so the angle isn't so sharp.

It looks good on the modified white and red bike but wouldn't it look slightly naff on a standard one.
Why not photoshop it first?

Re: Stretched engine mount
Yes and yes, but cornering/performance/ground clearance would change, not something i want to do, but i welcome changeMgalutia88 wrote:Could you just make extensions? Also doesn't stretching smooth out the ride?

^Agreed^ yeah brake cable won't work(but a gy6 cable willPcxdemon wrote:For 3 inch extension no further mods are required to the bike, however i might be wrong but i'm quite certain that for 6 inch extension one needs to modify brake and throttle cable and also top mounts for the rear shocks..dem0nk1d wrote:I think we can do 6 inches, but then i have to figure out some kind of shock blocks so the angle isn't so sharp.

Re: Stretched engine mount
That's a good question.
4 1/3" and 6 1/3" stretch.
Webike also sells both of those kits.

That is very cool. I generally don't like the blacked-out cafe-racer look, but you did a very nice job on that.dem0nk1d wrote:

I have a Honda Spree sitting around, if you were on the East Coast, I'd give it to you just to see what you could do with it.
