started mine up today after its been sat in my conservatory for the last two months with the rubbish weather. Bikes been on maintenance charge via a CTEK charger but was very reluctant to start, had to really hold the starter on and give it a dab on the throttle. very rough idle for about ten minutes. dabbed the throttle a couple times and it stalled. bike eventually settled down and ive taken it for a spin out. Seems to be running ok but im guessing the fuels started to go off, was stored with a full tank so im going to disengage the idle stop for this tank

nice to be back out on the bike though

Did you use any fuel stabilizer? The FI is great, but can only do so much with bad gas.

It's great to be getting back into riding season. We're going to have another warm weekend this weekend, I definitely plan on going for a ride.

No that was the problem I think, I just filled the tank to avoid rust problems. Will it clog anything up running this tank through or does the fuel just get less volatile so it doesnt burn well?

Shouldn't be a problem to run it through, the FI will correct for it. It just might be a bit hard to start, and less powerful. I'd be careful to put stabilizer in the gas next winter.

yes they are.
I personally have never used a fuel stabiliser. I don't think fuel degrades much in 3 or 4 months that it might be off the road for the winter.

Interesting read, in theory with the temps being under 10 degrees over winter you would think it would store better.

I'm going to start using it for work now but my commutes half what it used to be so I won't have to refill every other day now.

That document deals with petrol and a two stroke mix. Standard petrol should be similar.

Glad to hear you are back on the road. I've used mine right through the (mild) winter to commute to work, but am thoroughly sick of cleaning it

But today, I had my first 'recreational' ride of the year with another scooter chap. We rode up through Somerset to Cheddar Gorge. The sun was shining and we notched up around 120 miles all told. It felt so good to be able to throw the scoot around on the bends, instead of worrying about ice, floods and potholes!

Must be nice! I went for a ride yesterday and although the snow and ice is gone the roads are all covered in sand.

When we took ours out of storage this time around, it did just like yours. It sputtered and complained and stalled. But once we got on it and rode it for awhile, it stabilized and ran nice. We ran the old gas out of it and refilled at a station that did not have ethanol in it. Now it starts quite nicely and is eager to go. Unfortunately, the weather has not been cooperating. It has been cold and rainy. We have gotten some riding in, but no where near what we want to do. Also, when the weather is unhappy, my back is unhappy. After 5 back surgeries I feel weather changes. The good thing is that Spring is just about here. Our flowers are starting to come up. Good time to get the lawn mower fixed and ready for use....#%&$@. To ride, or to cut the lawn??...hmmm. Tough choice ;-)

First ride of the year today! Haven't ridden since November. Thought I'd be able to ride on a fairly regular basis throughout the winter but that didn't happen due to unusual cold and other reasons.

Didn't put in fuel stabilizer but did charge it regularly. Luckily, started right up today like it was never stored. Gotta love Hondas!
