new pcx owner
Hi New owner to pcx 125 hi everyone. I have recently returned to biking after a 20 years of car ownership. I did my cbt a few weeks ago and been looking at owning a scooter for approx 17 mile each way commute. The choices were chinese piaggio yahama or honda. I liked the look of the pcx and incidentally my last bike was the early 2 stroke honda vision 50. So I shopped around a new one was being offered at several dealers for 2,200 pounds on eBay. Ended up buying a 12 plate with 250 miles on for 1,900 pounds. Got it last Saturday and been used all week now nearly 500 miles on the clock. My first impressions is what a great bike this is. The commute is enjoyable almost 15 miles of dual carriageway at 55 to 60 mph effortless. I fly past the 2 miles of standing traffic and save 20 mins. Fuel 6.50 pounds 120 miles approx. Comfort wise the famous hump is just about right for me 5' 10" the bike came with a giving screen I think the approx 18 inches one. Dealer serviced at 230 miles so assume oil and valves done. Tried the idle stop great gimmick but worry about the life of battery and starter so have switched it off. Reliability it's early to say but in the past I have ridden a clappedf honda c50 in student days that never let me down through rail sleet and snow so I hope it's modern stalemate will share the same reliability. Anyhow look forwards to many happy days riding.

Hi and welcome.
Is it an eSP or the original version?
If its the original keep an eye on the centrestand mounts.....
That aside, reliability not an issue, I rode mine 18,000 miles in three years, it never let me down once.

Four decades on two wheels has taught me nothing, all advice given is guaranteed to be wrong

Hi! Great news on the new scoot - your certainly using it to full potential at 55-60! My commute is normal city traffic with normal speed roads.
gn2 - how much of the official service did you keep up? Did you do most servicing yourself?

Re: new pcx owner
Transferred warranty runs out in 2 months so I may have the 2.5k service at the dealers then it will be serviced by me. I have viewed the various you tube help videos and does not seem too bad. I used to service a variety of my ex bikes. Great forum. The only minor niggle I checked the engine oil serviced by the dealer and it is over the level Mark (not screwed in) but if they did it it must be right lol.
