adding oil - noob question

Hi,
I have a new pcx 2014. This is probably stupid question, I didn't have motobike before. But am I supposed to add oil before first 500 km check? I mean when level is low, I'm not sure if it is possible yet.

The oil level should be fine at that mileage. My bike has never used any oil between services but it's recommended it's checked regularly. I check the oil , tyre pressures and lights when I'm cleaning it. The instructions are in the owners manual but basically you unscrew the dipstick. Clean it then put the stick back in but don't screw it in and when it pulled out again the oil level should coat the lower hatched part of the stick.

If you run at higher range speeds you will youse oil. I found myself half capacity down after 1500 miles but I ride mostly at or above 8000 rpm.

Your dipstick is checked with the bike on the center stand when cold. The stick is located just behind the radiator on the right side.
