Throttle body neck

Post by Urbanfreestyle »

Hi there folks, So i would like to apologize if this should be in accessories but thought it was more technical.

In long and short i'm looking to buy a new airfilter and was wondering what size neck it would need?

My bike is a 2013 Honda PCX 125 ESP.

As a side note, has anyone had any experience of these filters or similar?

Are you looking to replace the filter or the whole box? I replaced my box with a canister.

Here's a couple of pics. It gives the bike a bit more of the throaty sound.

Unfortunately I don't have a link. I bought it at a local Bangkok shop and they installed it, so I can't tell you the neck size either. I am pretty sure that it wasn't that expensive. I am thinking in the 1,500 Thai baht range ($40 - €34 -£27), but I don't recall because I have added so many extras to the bike that I lost track.

You may have seen some of my other posts where I comment that accessories here in Thailand are very inexpensive. My favorite is my custom seat which I think I got for 1,300 Thai baht ($40 US - €29 - £23)

If I was retired and not working at a full-time job, I am pretty sure that I would set up a small exporting business.

I think you should for people like us abroad! :) if you happen to find details for the shop if they sell abroad i would be more than interested in getting a few bits!

I'm almost thinking of taking a trip over to Thailand just to get parts! haha.

It's just a small repair/parts shop in a back street that a Thai friend found for me. They don't sell by mail.

My wife and I have commented a few times that if a person was into massages, scooter parts and dental, they would easily pay for a flight.

if you dont want to spend much, you can use any 40mm air filter for the pitbikes. this is what i'm currently using. if you need pictures i can get them tomorrow. 10 bucks shipped to my house! can't beat that price!

 why you scared...
you could put a longer hose on it, up under the bodywork more or even into the under seat storage, or put in the stock airbox like pcxdemon did...

I'll try. Saying that the puddles are impressive here in the UK. They get up and punch you if you're not careful!

The metal pipe is the connection between the canister and the motor

I also put a cone filter in the airbox like PCXdemon did. Use 1.5" I.D. radiator hose and a piece of a 1.5" O.D. exhaust pipe adapter. Using this you clamp the 1.5" I.D. hose to the throttle body. Next you run it up to the airbox. Then you clamp a K&N R-1100 cone filter (with the prefilter wrap if you like) to the exhaust pipe. You will need to file the circumfrence of the airbox hole to allow the exhaust pipe to it through it. This however is not too large to cause issues with reinstalling the stock intake hose and creae issues, thus you can switch back later if the need arrises. Finally you break off the little tab for the end of the intake hose inside of the airbox. Now you slide the exhaust pipe with your filter clamped on it through the hole in the airbox and into the radiator hose. Walla, you have a 1.5" I.D. intake instead of your stock 1.25" I.D. hose.

LEAVE THE SNORKEL IN THE AIRBOX LID!!! This helps smooth out the intake flow and improves throttle response.
