simple power port mod to charge devices
Power outlet added. Handy to charge devices. Parts available cheaply on Amazon. Power port unplugs to allow use of Battery Tender.

Re: simple power port mod to charge devices
I added an outlet just above and to the left of the fuel door. It was simple to install and is waterproof. It is ideal when I need to plug something in for a quick charge while riding.

Re: simple power port mod to charge devices
i need to do this. When I listen to music when I ride longer distances, it eats up the battery on my phone. I have one in my Amazon cart, just haven't ordered it yet.

BTW, I've seen people install these in the glove box. Not liking installing them anywhere but under the seat where it's lockable with regards to charging a cell phone, or any other electronic device of value!

I thought about adding a lock to the glove box but that was a bit extreme. Maybe if it was larger and more useful.

Re: simple power port mod to charge devices
I have run a usb wire from under the seat before and plugged it into an adapter in the 12 volt outlet. I did this while I was in a restuarant . The outlet is hot all the time. There is a hole in the hinge that a USB cable will fit through. I also sometimes carry a small rechargeable battery for recharging electronic devices. That way I can just put everything under the seat and go inside while the device is recharging.
