I bought this 2013 PCX 150 new at the beginning of August 2014 and today I received an extended warranty offer from Honda directly (not third party). I thought some may be interested in the details and I am interested if anyone else received a similar one in the US.
The offer is for one to four more years (for scooters only) and unlimited mileage after the original one year warranty with or without roadside added in. The rates w/o roadside are as follows:
months cost
12 231
24 275
36 330
48 385
No cost installments of 3 payments are offered as an incentive. Payment at 0, 30, and 60 days.
Coverage exclusions are extensive and numerous. Basically, they only cover a factory defect/failure on non-maintenance items. If they can prove you had something to do with it you are on your own.

Re: Honda Extended Warranty Offer
I relieved a similar offer when I bought my 2013 PCX last August. I have been wondering about this as well. My machine is dated 12/2013 for manufacture and I wonder about the transmission bearing that many people have had go out on them. I was thinking of calling Honda and seeing if this would be covered. If so it might be worth it. I need to research it more. As I find out I will update this thread.

Re: Honda Extended Warranty Offer
Lets us know what you find out, from what I gather in here the bearing/kit is not expensive and the operation would be quick work for any skilled Honda service mechanic. Parts and labor might be less than insurance especially if you can manage it yourself.MikeP wrote:I relieved a similar offer when I bought my 2013 PCX last August. Re: Honda Extended Warranty Offer
Having worked at a car dealership, I would almost never recommend someone purchase an extended service agreement. They are set up for the house to win, not the buyer. Just like Vegas.

Re: Honda Extended Warranty Offer
Based on what I read through the various forums on this issue it would not be enough to justify the warranty (frequency and cost to fix). Also, I would go after Honda if it occurred.
