Bus lanes

Anybody know if its okay for us to ride in bus lanes or not ? I read it was okay in London but what about Glasgow ? there seems to be
different answers for different places.

In London bikes are only allowed on the red route lanes not all bus lanes. Usually on entry to the bus lane a sign will show the motorbike symbol if allowed.

Only buses, pedal cyclists, taxis, and licensed private hire cars can use the bus lane during its hours of operation in Glasgow

Bugger, there goes my excuse of saying but my bike is a 'cycle' a motorcycle, i'm sure on the tax disc it says bicycle too but i guess that wont wash

totally Stupid rule.
