I just struggled with this recently, and used a micro jewler screwdriver to no avail. I then just used my fingernails taking far too long to do. But i got them all without damage.

I have those screw drivers but thought they might leave a mark. No finger nails and it will take too long to grow them ;) are they in so tight something sticky or suction might not extract them?

Or...if you dont care about $15, order them online and then just pop them, not worried about messing them up. Mine were jammed in there.

Soon as I got home with my new scooter, i popped the black ones off of my Forza with a pocket knife and raised the bars off of my knees..
No plastic covering the bars on these scoots !

Socket Bolt Cap (8MM)
Once you learn what these are called they seem to fit all 8mm sockets on multiple makes and models of bikes.

How about some dental floss? Slip it under and around the caps lifting upwards? I have yet to adjust mine. I need more reach. Like your vid homie ;)

Anything that will get under it, a strong playing card, fishing line will pull better than dental floss --> 20 lb braid is the ticket.....

I just took them off and threw them out. The allen bolts below them look nicer than the plastic caps, in my humble opinion. :)

Are they likely to brown off with surface rust though?

Yeah, I'm wondering that too? Hmm...maybe dab them with a little something...something? (To prevent that?)

Either on or off they will rust, if unprotected....crc656 or wd40 wiped on occaisionally will keep that from happening....

Pick up a tool that removes o-rings. If you can't find one, go to a pharmacy and get a dental tool for cleaning teeth. You can likely pick the caps out with one of those.
2010 Honda PCX 125 in Thailand (White) - "White Lightning" Sold in Sept 2017 :(
2009 Yamaha Majesty YP400 in USA (Metalic Titanium) - "The Throne" Sold in June 2020 :(

I'm going to focus on this today and there seems to be no easy way as I tried to get the tiniest feeler gauge in unsuccessfully. No clearance at all with these but I will try dental tools and does plastic shrink or expand when warmed or cooled? I do like the idea of not replacing them at all... does anyone have an image of no caps?

I asked about this on this forum long ago and was told it was easy - well, mine are recessed too and there is no gap to get anything in them to prixe them off.

Don't abandon the project when you get a feel for how tight those hex bolts are :o muscle it like you have a pair and you only need one cap off from each side to adjust your bars if you're having trouble getting the tape to pull any one cap. It's totally worth it as I am feeling very perky on the PCX now with the bars pushed up considerably.

Note; don't forget to adjust the brake lever assemblies up as well to clear your windscreen and achieve a comfortable reach. VERY HAPPY NOW!
