Possible overheating

Hi Guys! New Forza owner here. 2015 Honda Forza 300. Looking forward to enjoying learning about this bike and seeing other adventures. I do have a question about the temperature gauge. Does anyone know where the temperature gauge should be on a 40 degree day at 50 mph. Mine is reaching one notch below the red "hot" area. My dealer says this is normal, and even Honda said as long as the light does not come on, I SHOULD be fine. I am not one to wait until it's too late for the should be fine. So where does your temp gauge normally run at.

Mine maxes out at about 35%. If that needle was near the redline on mine I'd dump it off at the dealer and tell them to contact me when they had it sorted out.

Check to see what the coolant level is. Mine was low and gave high readings.

My forza is always about 45%. On hot days and cold days.

Maybe there is air in the system.

Thanks for the replies. After I got it back from the dealer yesterday, It never went above 1/2 way. "Magically" So I am thinking they must have done something and did not want to admit a mistake. I am still keeping my eye on it though. How could I bleed off the air if there was any in there?

For the PCX (which may also apply to yours) The Honda book says to run it on the center stand with the radiator cap open while warming up. As it gets to hot they say to blip or rev the throttle a few times. That will push the coolant through the system quicker, taking the air to the open radiator where it can escape(you'll see bubbling at the neck). Once you see the coolant level constant and no more air bubbles, top it up and cap it. make sure there's coolant in the overflow bottle and ride it.

Exactly the same as j.d.b. has allready mentioned are mentioned in the service manual of my SH 300 and this is the right way to take the air out of the system when a change of coolant is performed.
