Re: Forza plastic
I have taken off some of my plastics. It is a strange process. There are screws you see and some are hidden. Parts of the panels are held on by spring loaded pinch points which need to be gently pried apart providing you took out the correct screws.
I just went slowly and shook everything to see what was still held.
Putting it back together was also an adventure. Some parts need to be slightly bent to get tab "a" into slot "b" It is really easy to strip the threads when installing the screws. Gentle goes it. I had to gently smash the pinch point parts to get them together. Soapy water also helps get some of the parts in. Don't do any work when it is freezing.
I just came back from my local dealer where I showed them 7 screws that were not installed or they fell out during my ride home.
Some of the plastics are held together by little dents. One good pothole and the parts separate.
I really like my Forza but some of the engineering is not that good. Honda tried to cut too many corners. And it was not a cheap bike to buy. I seriously think it was designed in China like so many of the scooter clones are. It has that generic scooter feel. I have never seen another Forza on the road around here. I don't think they sold many of them in Canada.
It took an experience mechanic all day to re-torque the brake recall. It took a while to get it apart and it took a while to repair the broken bits of plastic so that it could go back together again. It went back together out of alignment. So he quit. I don't think he ever wants to see the Forza again. He got paid 2 hours for an all day job.
