Re: Honda pcx 150 want start
Other people can ask about the spark plug and battery...
Are you squeezing the brakes hard enough? Is there enough fluid in the brake reservoirs to trip the starter?

Chicaboo, not to derail the topic, but how would that safety switch be affected by the amount of brake fluid in the (I assume you mean) CBS resevoir? Is the switch located there at the reservoir or up near the lever on the handlebar? I've never had to look for it (yet).

Re: Honda pcx 150 want start
Jacroom, if your kill switch is in the "run" position and the sidestand is up and the rear brake lever is pulled in, I'd look at the battery next. The spark plug is not related to the problem.Jacroom12 wrote:My 2013 pcx 150 want say any thing when I try to start shows fuel horn work

Re: Honda pcx 150 want start
Hi Johnny,
I only use the left brake lever to start my PCX with the CBS since it engages both brakes.
I don't know where the switch is to engage the starter, but I hear a click at the right brake lever, but not at the left.
I just wondered that maybe if the front CBS reservoir is low that it may not trip the starter (without squeezing hard enough?).
My understanding is that CBS engages the rear brake only until you squeeze hard enough to open the valve for the front brake.
Anyhow, I thought I'd mention it as it's likely not the sort of thing people think of beyond the battery, plug/lead, etc...
Gav.
Edit: I don't know where Jacroom is from, but the international (non-USA) PCX doesn't have a kill switch, they have idle stop on/off instead.

Re: Honda pcx 150 want start
From your description it sounds to me like the battery is dying. If you can get it jump started to prove that it will start with enough juice, then it is definitely the battery. So, try getting it jump started by another bike.

I thought you were making a joke, heh...sorry, the switch is at the lever, the fluid levels won't have any bearing on the situation. Way to think outside the box though.

Re: Honda pcx 150 want start
To echo those who answered seriously, dollars to donuts, your battery is dead. The starter system requires a certain amount of voltage so it can push amperage through the main fuse to the starter relay and the starter solenoid to turn over the starter motor. If your lights aren't even coming on, there is not enough voltage present.Jacroom12 wrote:My 2013 pcx 150 want say any thing when I try to start shows fuel horn work

Of course, there is the off chance that someone went after your wiring harness with a box cutter.

Re: Honda pcx 150 want start
Mel's recommendation is spot-on, this sounds like a dead battery.
Check:
- Kill switch to run
- Kickstand up
Jump the bike from a car the same way you'd jump a car, but leave the car off. Remember, red to red, black to black.
Try cranking it, if it's the battery it should start right up.
