oil filter
Tried to search for "oil filter", and for some reason it ignored the word "filter"!
Anyway, such a weird little filter in the PCX150... I've got about 11,000 miles on my scooter, and the filter always looks clean when I do an oil change (though the rubber gasket is a bit scrunched!). Is it worthwhile to check it each time? Kind of a pain... does anyone ever replace one? thanks

Re: oil filter
Haven't checked mine yet, Its just a screen... it either caught something or it didn't. If it did catch something it still has it, if it didn't it isn't ever going to as what passes through is too small. Just change your oil and do the screen check once in a blue moon IMO.

Re: oil filter
I don't know how typical but Amazon offers them for GY6 engines so maybe common. What we need is a magnetized drain plug like my other bike.depthman wrote:Is this "screen" typical for scoots?
Actually we need a magnetized dip stick for convenience if that's available. If not oops I just gave away the perfect invention again

I just put a rare earth magnet on the outside of the oil filter of my Buell after doing a search for magnetic dipsticks HaHa!

Re: oil filter
Usually people find small bits of metal caught in the screen during the 1st service at 600 miles (engine wearing in) and often not much else afterwards. Good to check it at least one time yourself when changing oil even if you have had a service done at a dealer - good indication they did do a service

Re: oil filter
Thanks... oil change I can handle, but the spring driven screen check seemed unnecessary. I've yet to change the "crush" washer... guess if it starts leaking it's time.
