Replacing the center shock

So I dont even have 200 miles on mine and last time I used it I took along a passenger. I noticed right away the shock is a bit under rated. Have you guys changed out yers? if so can you send me to the links

Center shock? If you mean the shocks in the rear there are those who have changed theirs for after market products. Some at least seem to think the change was for the better. I think Honkerman changed his and was/is happy with the results. I don't recall what brand he used. Maybe he will respond to your post.

Those YSS shocks are proclaimed to be good, and they have a good reputation, but getting them here in the states can take a while. I have NCY shocks on mine and they are good. It may take a bit to get them adjusted just right, but they're up to the challenge.

Powerbypcx.com sells them as well, so you do have choices as to where to get them. Your next choice would be which version.

Thank you all for responding. Sorry guys, for some reason I thought there was only 1 rear shock and Im about 1500 miles away from the bike at the moment. So do many people change out these shocks?? I am going to be with the bike in about 10 days and thought I could get the parts sent there ahead to do the swap but it sounds like sourcing is not so easy.

To your first question, yes, many people do. TBH (speaking as a bike mechanic) stock motorcycle shocks as a rule are often bargain bin items and end up wearing out pretty fast if you ride a lot. This is across the industry and not just with the PCX. It's one way bike manufacturers cut costs on their bottom line. You can get bikes with good shocks on them from the factory, but usually they are customs or special editions, but especially with low end bikes, it's best to not expect any bells and whistles straight out of the box.

I got my NCY shocks from ScooterWorks.com, but they cost a bit. If you need them in 10 days, that would be your quickest option, but they aren't cheap (shocks are generally expensive anyway). You will have to wait weeks or months for shipping from any of the Thailand sources. There are plenty of folks who've had good success with that, but if time is an issue for you, The NCY's should be able to be shipped fast.

Try it again two up. It might feel better once you know there are two shock absorbers at the rear. Rather than a central single.
