whats the normal amp draw on the PCX?

Post by Cracksta »

Hi guys,

Anyone know what the normal amp draw on the PCX with all the lights on, engine on?

was about to get some heated grips but recall reading someone saying 5 amp was normal as there is a 10amp fuse?

The heated grips are 4amp at max setting so little leverage for the 10amp fuse?

thanks

The circuit that drives the blinkers and rear license plate light is a 10a circuit, you should be okay tapping into that.

The concern in the other thread is that the stator only has an extra n amps of charging power, meaning if you exceeded n, your battery wouldn't charge, and you'd eventually run your battery to 0.

4A draw isn't high enough to exceed n (whatever n was), so you should be fine. Anyone else remember the topic Cracksta is mentioning? I can't find it.
