Re: am i dreaming
Why not? Whats the most active hottest friction moving part on the engine... the rings right. As far as i'm concerned after just rebuilding the top end of a Harley engine I reset the odometer to zero. It's like a new engine, the rest of the parts are drowned in oil or cyclical replacements, bearings, exhaust, tires, grips, cables, pads, some cheap electrical widgets and a seat. There is no rusting out of my bikes like a car or truck so yes you get 300,000 miles
but we will crash and buy news ones before that

Re: am i dreaming
Yes it can.eggman wrote:i need my pcx to last 100,000 miles can it do that with same motor it came with? im cheap what can i say
Easily.
You just need to keep on top of the maintenance.
Treat it right and it should do half a million miles or more.
Four decades on two wheels has taught me nothing, all advice given is guaranteed to be wrong

cool because i love this bike
Re: am i dreaming
Max Tremo in Italy did over 100,000km on his PCX. But I don't know how many big bore kits and piston changes that involved?

New poster/old rider
Just turned 30,000 miles on my 2013 PCX. Had a bit under 2100 miles
at the time I bought it. [Feb 2015] I've neglected the valve adjustment so far. Wasn't the plan.
Not saying to follow my example.......just stating the fact. Have to agree....these scooters are
for the long haul. [Do change oil and rear tires frequently]

Re: am i dreaming
At my rate of using it, my PCX won't hit 100,000 miles until some time in the 22nd century, more likely the 23rd.

2013 PCX 150 [now an ex-bike, soon to be consigned to the bottom line of the sig]
2013 Silver Wing ABS (Black)
1971 BMW R75/5 (White)
Too many ex-bikes to list, and, besides, who really cares what we used to own?

I have only owned one bike that I put 25,000 miles on before trading it in or sold it. I don't see this one as being any different, though I do love this bike.
Currently own:

Givi tall windshield & tailbox - Lots of extra lights
Custom seat from Thailand - Bad Boy Airhorn
Takegawa Lowering Shocks - Michelin City Grip Tires

Re: am i dreaming
I hear you. I am the same. I am not in the US long enough to put big miles on my bike there and I don't wander far from home here in Bangkok, so the PCX doesn't get many miles put on it either.Bash On! wrote:At my rate of using it, my PCX won't hit 100,000 miles until some time in the 22nd century, more likely the 23rd.

15k in one year. Rode my PCX from Boston to the Outer Banks in North Carolina, then from Boston to St louis. This June I'll be going from St Louis to Door County Wisconsin. I also ride it daily as my commuter...

Re: am i dreaming
Probably yes for the dreaming...
The common knowledge here in China is, a scooter will never pass the magical threshold of 100k miles. Maybe PCX is different, better quality better technology? but I doubt it will pass that.
